Abigail watched as Thomas' hands wrapped around the man's head and shoulders. His eyes glowing a bright yellow and his teeth razor sharp. She wanted to feel afraid but she didn't, all she felt was safe. Her eyes followed his hand movements as he snapped the man's neck and stood over his now dead body. A small gasp leaving her mouth.
The sound of the front door opening pulled her out of her daze and she looked back at Lauren and Mala. Lauren looked at the dead man than to Thomas who no longer resembled a demon before looking at Abigail. "Abbs, what happened?" She was quiet, not wanting to freak her out.
Lauren had seen everything from the living room window with Mala but refused to step outside when she saw Thomas approach the man. She was scared of him, but at the moment she needed to comfort her best friend. Abigail shook her head and began walking down the stairs towards Thomas. His eyes still slightly yellow, but we're fading back to his hazel.
"Thomas, are you okay?" Her hands grabbed his face and she began inspecting him. She knew he was okay, the man hadn't laid a finger on him. She felt a motherly instinct tackle her from the inside and her concern was on Thomas and Thomas alone. Lauren watched as Abigail inspected Thomas, not even bothered that their best friend was a monster. Mala watched her Queen take care of her brother, and her heart warmed. She was concerned for him, all because he was doing his job at protecting her. She knew she was queen for a reason.
"Abigail, I'm alright. It's you. Are you okay?" He pulled her into a hug. His heart was racing and his mind was all over the place. This was her first encounter with real threatening danger and apparently his demon didn't like it. She nodded her head and pulled him into a tighter hug. Thomas pulled away and looked up at Lauren. "Lauren. . ." Abigail looked back over her shoulder and watched Lauren nod her head towards the door.
"Come in, but what about the body?" Thomas shook his head and looked back at the man. His body was already starting to turn into dust.
Abigail grabbed Thomas' arm and pulled him into the house. Her grip was tight and he winced. He knew she was on edge and that her powers were becoming more prominent as the days passed, but to witness it first hand was amazing to him. Lauren handed everyone a cup of tea and sat down, all eyes were on Thomas. Though Mala was just excited to see what lie he would come up with. Humans weren't supposed to know about them.
"Thomas, don't lie to us." Abigail narrowed her eyes and authority leaked from her voice. It was a direct command and Mala and Thomas bowed their heads instantly. Their eyes widened, realizing that the truth was all they could now say. "What just happened out there?" Thomas cleared his throat and nodded.
"Abbs, can this wait? Please. It's not right for me to tell you." Mala was cornered and refused to make eye contact with anyone. She felt the anger rolling off of Abigail and it was making her sick.
"No, I want answers now! I saw you kill a man, Thomas! Your eyes were yellow! Your teeth were razor sharp! You weren't human. I want answers, so start talking!" Abigail was mad and Lauren knew it. Abigail had been living in the shadows of lies for years, and she had begun to rebel. This was just the start of her getting her way. Lauren also wanted answers though and she wasn't leaving without any. Lauren glanced at the clock and realized that time was moving extremely fast. The sun had begun to rise and it was nearly six in the morning. Thomas was stalling.
"Quit stalling. Just give us what we want, Thomas. It's not that hard. We know what we saw, now just explain how." Lauren was calm and it was a little more comforting to him. He was beginning to become afraid of Abigail and her anger. He knew she would never hurt him, but she was powerful and wasn't aware of what she could do. She was a bomb that could explode at any moment. He wanted Lucifer to come and explain everything.
