She was dead.

He found it too hard to accept. No, this could not be!

"She is dead," the older man in purple repeated. "She died for all of us."

Chen Ye felt as if a sword was plunging through his heart. If only I had told her, he said to himself. If only I could..

He whispered softly, as if speaking to a sleeping Aranya next to him. The three words that he should have told her. He had wanted to tell her a long time ago.

Then he fell into a long silence.

Chen Ye sat down and closed his eyes.

After some time had passed, he calmly stood up, and walked out of Qinan Palace.

They will pay, he told himself. For her death. For her desolation.

In no time, he found himself heading for the venue of the coronation. Anger raged within him when he saw them. She had just passed, and here they were, all ready to celebrate.

A long confrontation followed which resulted in Chen Ye losing control and raising his magical sword to the skies.

"You will not be forgotten, Aranya," Chen Ye said aloud, his eyes facing the skies. "Your people will remember you."

The crowd, including Junuo, Aranya's half-sister, froze as the grassy lands around them started to transform into snow-covered lands. Chen Ye turned towards Junuo and her and Aranya's mother, starting an incantation.

"Wait!" The voice of an older man caused Chen Ye to stop what he was doing and turn around. It was the older man in purple.

"All is not lost. There may be a way to return her to this world," the man said.

Chen Ye recognized his master. "Master, please enlighten me," Chen Ye pleaded.

The man sighed. "Chen Ye, your power is unrivaled. If you are willing to use all the power you have harnessed in your lifetime to rebuild a new dimension, where the same events unfold, you may be able to resurrect her. Fragments of her soul still remain and linger in Fanyin Valley. If you collect these fragments, it could be possible to rejoin them to reform her soul."

Chen Ye knelt and bowed before his master. "For Aranya, I am willing."
