Monday morning as I walk lazily into the school wearing my comfy clothes aka T-shirt and sweatpants, I am immediately bombarded by my best friend Sandra Srobin's greeting. And by "bombarded", I mean literally getting squeezed to death from behind and nearly becoming deaf because of her screams.

"Maddie, you can't believe what happened yesterday!" she squeals.

I discreetly roll my eyes while picking up my Functions textbook that dropped because of the shock she gave me.

"Oh yeah?" I reply, trying to sound interested. I know for 99.9999 percent it was Aaron that she is talking about. I mean, she cannot stop chirping about him in my ears for the past two days.

"A liked my profile picture on Facebook!" San spills it out instantly when the words leave my mouth.

Ugh, I cannot blame her for obsessing over Aaron so much, but this ridiculous crush has to stop. After all, I do not want to see my best friend wasting her time over someone who is too full of himself and does not give a damn about other people.

Aaron Roshton is the notorious jerk of Gosevelt High. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a bit here. I have an extremely negatively biased view on him because he insulted me in Freshman year for getting all A's on my subjects. Yeah, I might come off as being too insensitive, but being called a nerd is my worst pet peeve. The bare sight of him makes me uncomfortable. He is just plain rude and stupid. He is careless that he always says whatever right out his mouth without thinking it over in his head. I avoid any association with him as much as possible.

San is going to owe me big time. For her own sake if she wants to live a happy life, I have to set my personal difficulty aside, sacrafice myself to "help" her get over her definitely temporary, life-wasting distraction - Aaron.
