As each day passed, the wedding was getting closer and closer. The day that stayed on everyone's mind, the day that lingered in Charles' head from the second he woke up to the second he laid down to rest.

As the sun rose, Lana rolled over in her sleep and rested her head on Charles' chest. Charles was wide awake, clueless as to what storm would be brewing beneath the surface as he silently stabbed Lana in the back every day. She slept peacefully, though, because she believed there was nothing to fear. She felt trusting and happiness. After all, she did everything for her Charles. She believed that with the amount of loving she gave Charles, that he could never hurt her.

Charles slipped out from under Lana and looked at her as she slept on the bed. He gently pulled the white covers over her, tucking her in. He stood there for a moment, taking in her appearance. Her beautiful blonde hair was messy on the pillow, and she looked calm and peaceful as she slept. He sighed and left the room, getting ready to go to work.

Lana woke hours later, and suddenly she frowned. Where is Charles? He usually wakes her before he leaves to go to work, but this morning he didn't. She dragged herself out of bed and fixed the blankets and sheets, making sure the bed was perfect. She walked into the kitchen to fix herself breakfast, and saw a note resting on the counter.

"I had to go to work extra early today, I wanted to let you sleep in baby. I will miss you so much, but I will be home later. I was thinking we could watch a movie tonight with some of your favorite snacks when I get back? P.S. here is some money, treat yourself honey. I love you. -Charles ♡"

Lana sighed and lifted the note to find a stack of money Charles left behind for her to do some shopping. She smiled at the sweet note and walked to the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day.

As she washed her hair, her thoughts started to wander. She loved how he left her a note, indicating that he wanted to spend time with her later tonight after work. Since he proposed, he had been constantly busy, working, and too tired to do anything with her. She didn't want to bother him too much about it, because the wedding was coming up and she wanted to stay positive. Her mood brightened when he said he wanted to watch movies with her. After she showered and got ready, she grabbed the money and her purse and went to her silver car to start the day, by herself.

She decided to stop at a local coffee shop to get breakfast. After ordering her iced caramel coffee and blueberry muffin, she sat down at a booth near a window that showed the beautiful view of the peaceful city she lived in. She stared out the window.

Lana scrolled through her phone as she waited for her order. She looked up and imagined Charles sitting across from her at the booth, the both of them laughing and conversing like they used to. She smiled and then frowned because things seemed off. She felt it in her stomach; but then she quickly reminded herself that they are getting married, and it's probably just all of the wedding stress and planning, and work that has Charles so busy. She just couldn't face the feeling; she felt lonely all of the time.

Lana received her food and coffee and thanked the barista, and walked back to her booth. Just as she sat down, someone walked into the cafe and it swiftly caught her attention. It was a woman with bright red hair, who quickly made her way to the counter to order.

Lana thought the woman was pretty, she was young and radiant. After the woman received her drink, she turned sharply and the coffee spilt all over the floor.

"Fuck. What the fuck. Of course this happens to me." The woman groaned and walked over to the condiment stand to get napkins.

Lana noticed and quickly got up to help the woman. She helped clean the mess and the woman looked up at her and smiled. "Ugh, thank you so much. I've been having a rough morning. You are so sweet for helping me."

"Of course! I understand. I'm not really having a good morning either. Well, I am, but I miss my fiance." Lana smalltalked with the woman.

"I am stressed as well. So much stress, and I am pregnant, too. Could you imagine?" The woman replied as the two threw away the dirty napkins and the woman pulled out her wallet to order another latte.

"Really? Wow, congratulations. I also have a little one on the way. I am nervous but excited. I have so much stress going on, with my upcoming wedding and all. It's a lot." Lana replied. "I wish you good luck with your baby and congratulations again."

"Thank you." The red-haired woman replied and as soon as she received her new latte, she started to head towards the door. "It was so nice meeting you. Good luck with your wedding and baby!" And with that, the woman left. Lana smiled, without realizing who she was talking to.
