Dean woke me up at 6 AM and said to get ready. Yaaaay. Sam was still asleep on the couch. Dean had taken the last watch. Lucky jumped onto the back of the couch and draped her tail over Sams body. I nodded at her and went to get ready. Ten minutes later, I was sitting on the bed waiting for Dean to finish his hair. I walked into the bathroom to see him combing it to perfection. It had taken me a minute to get ready. Dean takes ten just on his hair. I epicly facepalm and hear Dean go "What?". I walk back into the bedroom and study my outfit in the mirror. Dean said we were going hunting. He said there were signs of a case nearby. I truthfully dont trust him but at least I know I can protect myself. Lucky is protecting Sam. I threw on a pair of skinny jeans, tight fitting camisole, and my favorite leather jacket. All black, plus my combat boots. Dean walks out of the bathroom and looks at me. "I didnt appreciate you messing me up when I was doing my hair." He said indignantly. Meanwhile, I was grabbing us apples and a bottle of juice for breakfast. "Apple or orange?" I interupt him. He gives me the strangest look before I hold up a personal sized bottle of each. He grabs the orange, I grab the apple. Before we run out the door, I stop to write Sam a note, telling him where we are. I leave it next to his breakfast, eggs and pancakes, in the refridgerator. Lucky looks at me and lays back down next to Sam. I run out to Deans newer car, a Mustang. I hop in the passanger seat and Dean starts driving to the police station. Once we get there, I almost get out before I realize Dean was handing me a intern badge. It was matching his Press pass. We go into the station, me scared out of my mind. I almost pulled a Cas, thank God I pulled out my badge right side up. The Deputy lets us into the Examination Room where there are two human shaped lumps under white sheets. Dean flashes his badge again, I flash mine, then the sheets are pulled away revealing two bodies. I walk up to them with Dean, who looks surprised that I am taking part in the investigation. "What is your thesis on the cause of death?" I ask the attendant, while Dean got out a "Wha...". The attendent looks between me and Dean, looking like he has seen this before. "Sir, she has to learn sometime. In the meantime, they were both found near the old bridge. Snake bites on both of them. No venom, but they have no other wounds on or in them." He finishes his explanation and looks surprised when I dont surge forward with more questions. Dean asks to see the body alone, but before the attendant can leave, I catch his arm and whisper in his ear. "Get me the sheriff, will you?" He nods and scurries out the door. Dean looks back at me from the table where the bodies are layed out. "Really? Look, I know you think you are hot stuff but..." Before he can finish I interupt with my hand in his face. "Can it, hot stuff. I killed a man who attacked your brother. Stop acting surprised, Dean. There is much more than meets the eye here and I would appreciate some respect! Now. We are talking to the sheriff. He knows something." Dean look away for a second, taking a deep breath, before he pushed my hand out of the way. "Little girl..." He had to stop because just then the Sheriff walked in. "Good afternoon, fellas. Oh. My apologies, madam." He was about 60 years old. Nearing retirement, and was going to make it to retirement if Dean didnt kill him first. "Thank you for noticing, Sheriff, but I am here as an intern. Dont mind me. My associate here will be handling things." Dean looked down at me and took out a pen and pad from his leather jacket. The sheriff stepped farther in the door and said "Please call me George. Have a seat." We sat in the meeting room next door to the Examination Room, me sitting behind Dean across from George. "George, what do you think happened to the victims? If they are victims? Has anything like this happened before?" Dean shot off a few questions at a time, making it seem like a reporter getting the scoop. I listened queitly before I heard something about 1976. I sat up quickly, taking out my own pad and pen from my leather jacket. "Sir," I interupted Deans set of questions, gonna pay for that later. "you said that the last time something like this happened was 1976? Like, a full 200 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence?" George looked surprised, same with Dean. I looked at the two of them and shrugged. "I like American history." Dean looked back at George when he said "Yes. 200 years after the Declaration was signed. Two men. Dead from snake bites near the bridge. Right around July. Beginning of July, end of June." Dean looked back at me and I told George "Thank you for your cooperation. We will keep in touch on this case." As I said that, Dean and George got up. I was scrambling to gather Deans belongings that he had dropped on the floor and hit my head on the meeting table. I held my head and handed Dean his things. We headed out to the Mustang and headed back to the motel. When we got back, Sam was sitting at the table, his breakfast and a note in front of him. He exploded out of his chair and ran to hug me when I walked in the door. "What were you thinking?" He hissed at Dean, who just shrugged and went to grab a beer from the fridge. I wrenched myself out of Sams grasp and pushed him back in his chair. I pointed my index finger into his chest. "You. You are going to calm down. I asked him to continue my training. My first case. A real hunt." I spun on my heels and poked Dean in the chest. "You are going to learn that I am just as strong and powerful as you guys are. Just because I am a girl doesnt mean I am incapable of doing things myself. Didnt Joe show you that? Ellen? Your mother?" As I finished my sentence, he spun around, beer in hand, and stomped out the door. I wiped my hands together and looked at Sam, whose jaw mustve hit the floor when I started talking to Dean. I looked at Lucky sitting on the couch, giving me the stink eye. "Hahaha Cas. I stood up for myself. Hows that for believing?" Lucky hopped up and jumped out the window. Sam stood up and grabbed his laptop, opening a search bar for research. "So whatd you find?"
