Second chance

1. Wedding

In two days my best friend Claire is getting married to Alpha Damon. Wedding is not unusual between werewolves because it strengthens the bond between mates.

We have been preparing almost for almost two months for this. I will be bridesmaid and Cam our Beta is going to be best man. I'm so excited and happy for them. They deserve to be happy after all the drama that happened with rogues 9 months ago. Fortunately we didn't have problems with them anymore because we killed their leader.

"Di come on and help me put these balloons" Cam said taking me out of trans. Cam has been my friend since the first day I came to this pack. We were almost done with decorations only thing left to do is make sure that food is actually going to be delivered by catering service.

After we were done it was already dark outside we were finished Cam went to take a shower and I went inside to see Claire incase she needed anything else. "Hey Claire are you here" I walked into kitchen to see two love birds making out on  kitchen counter. "Ahem *cough* *cough*" and they finally stopped what they were doing and turned to face me. Claire had her iconic red face that she made whenever I caught them being all lovely. Damon smirked and said  "Well I should be going to see with patrols if there is any problem at the border." He kissed Claire on top of head and said goodbye to us.

"So are you excited for the big day" I asked Claire and she was sad "Honestly I'm little bit nervous and I'm afraid that something bad is going to happen" I frowned because I know why she feels like that and I didn't know what to say to her. In war that we had with rogues she lost her mother and father and that was a tragedy to whole pack because her father was respected pack warrior and her mom worked with me in hospital.

"Hey don't worry everything is going to be fine, rogues are long gone and I don't think we are going to have problems with them" she smiled "I know but I can't help but feel worried but I know I have my mate and my fearless best friend here with me so I'm not afraid." We laughed and talked a little bit about who they invited.

"Alpha Nathan is coming" she wiggled her brows. I couldn't help but to roll my eyes at her. Alpha Nathan biggest player of all times. Three years ago when we had pack meeting he tried to hook up with me and after I said no he literally went to every single girl that happen to be there and tried to get into her panties. He is really good looking guy but his player ways will surely make problems with his mate if he ever finds her.

"Come on Claire you know what happened and there is no way I could ever be with him" she laughed at me "I'm just kidding but there will be another single alpha but I don't think that he will actually show up, you heard about Alpha Xander" my eyes widened of course I heard about Alpha Xander he is rumored to be one of the most cold hearted people on this planet. He killed so manny people, he kills whoever trespasses on his territory and he is Alpha of biggest pack in the world. He has personal agenda against rogues because they killed his mate six years ago. He is merciless and dangerous I wonder why did they even called that guy.

"Don't worry Di he won't even show up he is not the type who goes to any type of event." I smiled and nodded. "I know but damn you know how manny stories we heard about the guy" she shook her head " You know that most of them are rumors beside he helped us so much with rogues if there wasn't him we wouldn't win" I let out a sigh "I know but still" She yawned "It's pretty late the guests will arrive tomorrow and we have to wake up early" I was really tired "Yeah you're right goodnight."

After that I went to my room took a shower and prepared everything for tomorrow. I lied on my bed and couldn't help but think about Alpha Xander. I've never saw him before but I heard that he was really handsome. I wonder if  what people say about him is true. My mate rejected me and it hurts me still but his mate died I can't even imagine what he was going through. I snoozed into sleep and I had nightmare where all of my pack was dead and a jet black wolf was chasing me and tried to kill me. I jumped and woke up feeling a little petrified. I went to drink some water and couldn't help but think if something  bad is really going to happen.

Second day

I woke up at 5:30 am. I got up and went straight to the bathroom to wash my hair do my morning routine. My long straight blonde hair took ages to dry so I had to blow dry it today. I got dressed and went to kitchen to take bagel and cup of coffee.

"Good morning" people that came to have breakfast greeted me then Claire and our other friends Anamaria, Silvija and Helena came downstairs. We went to hair salon to get our hair done I wanted simple jet elegant curles. After that we went home to do our makeup and get dressed. I had beautiful long royal blue dress with simple diamond earrings.

It was already 3:30 pm.  and food arrived and some of the guests started showing up. I knew manny people that came I talked to some warriors from other packs while Claire was getting ready and Damon wasn't allowed to see her before wedding so he was here talking to some Alphas including Alpha Nathan who sent a wink I just rolled my eyes and turned around and went inside to check on Claire.

My wolf stirred inside me whole day and I asked her what's wrong but she wasn't responding me I wonder what is she up to. She wasn't the same after Daniel rejected us but after he had mated with Tiffany my wolf was heartbroken and she still has some difficulties. But today she wasn't her usual self and I'm concerned about her.

When I went inside to see Claire I lost my breath
"Claire you look gorgeous, Damon is going to pass out when he sees you" She wore dress that made her look like she came out of Disney movie. I let a few tears and she hugged me and said that she will be fine "Di it's not like I'm dying or something" I couldn't help but to feel proud and happy of her. She said "Thank you I'm so excited I just wish my parents were with me on my special day" I hugged her even tighter "They are here they are always watching over us and you make them proud."

"Now it's time to go are you ready the ceremony starts in eight minutes exactly" she nodded and took a deep breath. We went outside where ceremony will be. Everyone was here already waiting for Claire. But something was wrong, my wolf was on high alert but she wasn't feeling threatened. She was actually excited I asked her what was happening and she blocked me again. Now I was feeling frustrated but I pushed her aside and focused on Claire. I was the one who walked her down the aisle because she didn't have any other relatives or family.

Suddenly my head started to hurt and I smelled the most amazing smell but I couldn't see who it belonged. We started walking down the aisle and I gave her to Damon and ceremony started.

But that smell made me lose my mind, it was the same feeling I had when I realized that Daniel was my mate. But that can't be possible. I was looking at guests but I couldn't figure out who was there until my eyes met with black ones and my wolf screamed inside my head "Mate, mate go to mate" he was the most attractive man I've ever saw. He had dark brown hair and beard, he was probably 190 cm tall but my goodness he was so hot. But suddenly he turned around and walked away. I was confused and wanted to follow him my wolf felt hurt and so did I.

The ceremony was over and I couldn't wait to follow that smell and it took me to the forest. I walked until I saw him sitting on a bench infront of huge lake. I just stood there and couldn't move cm. Until he stood up and started to walk towards me. My knees almost gave out when he stood only two meters from me.

"Mate" we said at the same time. He was evidently confused. He looked into the sky and said "You must really hate me for giving me a second chance mate, are you going to take her away too". Now I was very confused then I figured it who he actually was. He is Alpha Xander Black he was my mate. How could that even happen?

I started talking "Look this is confusing to me too. I also had a mate before how could this happen?"
He growled possesivly "Mine." I was so scared of what was he going to do to me. Was he going to reject me or worse killed me. My mind played hundreds scenarios.

Only logical thing that came to my mind then was to run. I heard anothe powerful growl that made me run even faster......
