Why couldn't I

Ch.1

(This chapter is going to be third person)

The first day of Junior year was around the corner , for most it would be a period to figure out what to do in the last week of summer. But for Peridot Greene and Lapis Lazuli it would be polar opposites.

Peridot woke up early, or at least early for her. She went through her normal morning routine and sat on the island in her kitchen wondering what she'd do to kill time. Peridot decided she would see what her friends were gonna do in the last week of summer. She texted her friend Amy 'what are you doing this week' Amy almost immediately answered, something that she never does. ' no, why do you think I plan things?'  Peridot just stopped and thought to herself
why do I think she plans anything? ' alright you wanna do anything' and as Peridot was accustomed to Amy didn't answer to this she sighed and just walked out of her house.

Lapis Lazuli as per usual didn't sleep last night because she was thinking about her life more often than usual. She just sat there in her bed staring out the window clutching onto her pillows, afraid of something that she wasn't sure why she thought of it. Her ex (no it's not jasper) Paige was sitting in her head which was normal for her but last night she was thinking about worst case scenarios ranging from Lapis leaving her head to Her finding out that Paige was gone. All of which stayed in her head for what felt like an eternity and no matter how hard she tried to get the storm in her head to settle down it wouldn't.

Peridot walked down the street and thinking about whatever. She looked up from the ground and found herself at Tim Hortons and thought to herself why not. Usually when Peridot walked into Tim's she would see some happy faces behind the counter but one person stuck out to her a blue haired girl with tanned skin. Peridot was wondering who this person was, but when she was up in line waiting for someone to come over the blue haired girl came over and was not what She has expected. "Welcome to Tim Hortons how may I help you?" She said. The girls face was almost frozen in a face of sadness and lack of anything to remotely care about.
" yeah can I just a black coffee and sprinkle donut "
The girl rang her up and grabbed her donut and started making her coffee. Peridot realized she hadn't looked away from the surprisingly interesting girl. So Peridot quickly looked around the shop waiting for her coffee, as she looked back towards the girl she was standing there with her coffee not saying a word. " thank you" Peridot said and walked out.
