"Oi, Sapphire, you up?" Dad was calling up to me. My head was pounding, I felt like I was about to throw up. "Yeah, I'm up!" I call back. I smell, bad. I need to shower. I push my duvet off of me, and I realize I'm still in the same clothes from last night. I roll my eyes at myself. I make my way towards some boxes that has clothes in them. There should only be two boxes, but there's three. I curiously open the third box. It's some of mom's favorite shirts.
I grab a shirt out of the third box, and a pair of jeans out of the second. I peek out of my door to see if the coast was clear. Thankfully it is. I tiptoe my way to the bathroom, turn on the shower, and do what I have to do.
As I dried off, I heard someone calling me. I wondered who that was? If it's important, they'll call again or leave a voicemail. I put my jeans on, then I hear my phone ring again. I started to speed walk towards my room. I picked up my phone. Noah was calling me. I answered. "Hey, Sapphire, sorry if I just woke you up, but last night I used your car and got you advil. It's next to your bed on the side I was on." He was talking quickly. "Thank you, I'll need it." I laughed.
"Heh, yeah. Hey, um, would you maybe like to go on a date? Instead of a party on a thursday night?" I was shocked. "Yeah, I would like that." The call dropped. While looking at my phone in bliss, it buzzed. It was a text message from Noah, 'Sorry! Didn't mean to hang up on you like that. I got excited that you said yes." I reply to him, saying that it's okay.
After being asked out on a date, I couldn't stop smiling. My head was still pounding. I tried to remember what I was drinking but I couldn't.
Reality settled in after I finished eating breakfast. I had to go shopping. For pots, pans, silverware, throw blankets, everything. "So Sapphire, we need to chat." My anxiety was raging. "Yeah what's up?" "I'm happy you're making friends." He smiled at me. "That's it? That's the chat we needed to have?" I looked up from lacing my converses. He shook his head yeah.
We went to Ikea and target.
We were there for basically the whole day. It was boring, but it was nice in a way.
When I got home, I built the furniture, added decoration, hung paintings. By that time it was five at night. I walk downstairs, to see a lady talking to my dad. "Sapphire!" he was excited. "Hey pumpkin," I blocked out whatever he was saying because he called me pumpkin. That meant he wanted to leave this conversation as soon as possible. After he got done introducing me, to the lady, I looked at him. "I don't feel good." I pouted. The lady looked at me. After explaining my 'symptoms' to him, he quickly excused us and she left.
"Dad I have a date tonight" I flat out said it. "With who? How old are they? Are they a he or a she? Have I met them? Are they a murderer?" "Okay dad, his name is Noah. He's 19, you haven't met him. I don't think he's a murderer." He smirked a bit. "I cannot stress to you enough that I want you to be careful." He closed his eyes then opened them looking right at me. I shook my head yes. "When is he going to be here? Can I meet him?" "Um? Sure, yeah. He said he'll be here soon." Dad sat down on the couch and waited.
15 minutes later, I get a text, "I'm here." I text him back quickly saying "Dad wants to meet you, be nice please." "Hehe" A couple of seconds later there's a knock on the door. Dad answers, "Hello Mr. Naismith." My dad looked disgusted, Noah and I could see it. "Never call me mr, just call me Charlie!" He let out a burly laugh and shook his hand. I thought so much worse. "Is that your car?" My dad questioned. He pointed to the matte black challenger. "Yeah," He laughed, "It's my pride and joy."
I giggled a bit and grabbed my bag, I hated carrying around a purse, so I carried around a yellow Fjallraven. It was fairly empty, I only had my keys, wallet, a small sketchbook and a couple of pencils. I stood next to dad, Noah smiled at me. "Hey Noah, I'm gonna steal your date for a minute and have a quick chat." Noah walked to his car.
"If you don't date him, I will Sapphire." I busted out laughing, "Oh my god dad." He laughed and walked back into the house. Still with a smile on my face I walk out to his car.
