"You're not going to win," Arthur teased, smirking at your adamant means to tug your thumb out from under his. He gained high amusement at your concentrated gaze, determined to break the appendage free. You huffed, refusing to respond to him just to prove him wrong. The gentle glow of Arthur's lantern burned at your two's feet, lighting the small area in which you chose to spend the night together. You hadn't stretched far from camp, simply keeping to its perimeter just in case of emergency. A highly doubtful situation but you couldn't be too safe after breaking out a wanted criminal set to hang the day before.

It was just before dawn, Arthur and you too endeavoured with the other to find the means to catch a wink. Stars had twinkled and the moon glowed all through the night, and so humid the air that you needn't an extra layer to keep yourself warm. The last few hours were spectacular ones, ones that you thought could only happen in your dreams given the way things started out between you (after Blackwater anyway). Mainly firing through the clock from chatter alone you were upset that dawn was coming, which meant the potential end to some quality time with Arthur.

"So tell me, Mr Morgan," You spoke, muttering a thanks to the cowboy as he passed you a cup of coffee. He hummed softly to show his attention was yours, leaning back to select an apple from his saddle bag. "What made you change your mind?"
