Dakotas POV

Fine if they don't need me, the I don't need them. I said to myself. I have been walking for what felt like forever. I walked along kicking a rock. I dont really care what happens to me at this point! I have no one. The only person I did have let me get kicked out. At that moment I heard my name get called. It started far away but soon got closer. I stopped and turned around. My eyes grew wide. I saw Cornelia, jerk face (the boy), and the two kids running towards me. It wasn't them that made my knees go weak, it was the hoard of zombies following after them that made my breath hitch. I was only gone like an hour how the hell did this happen? I thought out loud as they got to me and we all started to run. "Well I was going out the door to come after you when i looked over and they were just flooding from the tree line." Said Corals. "Yeah they got really close to surrounding the house but we made it out in time." Agreed...Dammit what was his name! "Look this isn't the best moment but whats your name?" I asked while looking back at the hoard on our tails. "Chase...Chase Matthews" he said while getting his grip on the little kids he about dropped. I held out my hands signaling for me yo carry one before he drops them both. He hands me the boy since the girl isn't very fond of me. We kept running until we saw a small town of to the left so we veered and headed there. I looked back at the slowly decreasing mob that had been chasing us for 3 and 1/2 hours. We made our way into the house and checking to make sure it was safe. "Well i guess we are stating here for the night." I stated the obvious. "Wow thank you captain obvious!" Said Corals as she laid down on her make shift cot. "I know I try!" I said while looking up at the ceiling and letting a deep sleep take over my tired and malnourished body.
