"You don't know how much I wished for this to become real, do you?" The words left her mouth as a mere whisper, when she looked into those beautiful eyes, that she never had been able to describe. They were blue and green and in some spots there were sparkles of amber. If there had been one thing of Ophelias outwardness that had impressed Lora from the beginning then it had been those eyes. Those wonderful eyes that were just as special as the person they belonged to. "Is that a yes?" Ophelias asked, her voice with a laughing undertone but Lora could easily hear the slight part of nervousness that spotted how important this was to her. "Of course it is. What were you thinking?" If it was even possible the smile on Loras face grew even bigger when she heard the reliefed laugh of the girl beside her. "Well, then we should pack or bags most probably." Ophelia answered still a little inscure just as always. "Yes we should." Lora assured her and her Grey eyes went far away to the waves that were coming up and down in the near sea. "We're really going to do this." she whispered, just realizing how big their decision was.
It had started years ago. Years ago with a simple joke.~Flashback~
"I love the sea. Do you know why?" it was a strange question for two 11 year old girls especially when it was asked at midnight in a Orphanage. Lora looked up to the girl that had just arrived today. "No I don't." she wanted to tell her that she should go back to sleep, but when she remembered how she felt in her first night, she finished her sentence with a soft: "Will you tell me?" The other girl looked at her, the eyes big and also if it was dark Lora could tell that she had never seen eyes like this. "I'd love to, if that's okay for you." her voice was so small and insecure that Lora had to went over to the other bed and hug the other girl. "I'd love to hear it."
"Well you know... The sea is everything. It is calm and wild and full of life, but sometimes life tacking, but... But it's always real and filled with emotions. When it is night, the reflection of the stars and the moon look so real as if there were real fireballs, drowning in the water. It is so wide that you could get lost in it for, maybe years. Just as my thoughts are, but somehow most of the people manage to find their way through it. It seems to be endless sometimes but in the end there is always an end. It might be far away and seem unreachable, but with the right kind of guide, you will find it in the end." For a moment Lora was speechless. This was the first time she ever saw how extraordinary this girl was. "If you love the sea so much, why don't you just sail it?" she asked jokingly and Ophelia said with all seriousness: "Maybe I'll do this."~End of the flashback~
"That's it?" Lora asked and sounded so excited that Ophelia couldn't wait to show her the inside. "This is it." she confirmed and with that she got on the boat. "Follow me!" she shouted, her smile making her not only look, but also sound happy.
"It is amazing. How did you organize all that without me realizing it?" Lora asked surprised when she saw the inside. And Ophila nodded and showed one of her genuine smiles, before she said: "If you're ready and want to, our journey can start tomorrow in the evening. Everything is ready, just in case, you know." At this moment, Lora probably should have become suspicious. Ophelia wasn't a - I'll organize this in just a few days and then we start without any kind of real plan - kind of guy. No Ophelia always planned things. Made sure that they would work out just as she had planed it. This wasn't Ophelia at all. And if Lora wouldn't have been so caught by this moment of surprise, she would have noticed that something was wrong instantly. But she didn't and just started to laugh unbelieving. "I'll go pack my back then." she said, still not sure if the girl, that was as close as a sister to her, wouldn't just laugh and tell her that it was all a joke. But she did not do such a thing. Instead she nodded calmly and said: "I'll await you."
She stayed on the boat when Lora left and when Lora came back in the morning, she found her in the front of the boat, admiring the sunrise. Lora sat down beside her and whispered: "Beautiful." Ophelia showed no kind of reaction, but that was perfectly normal for her, so Lora wasn't worried at all. Well, maybe she should have been. Should have seen the shadow in Ophelias eyes or the little tremor in her right hand. But she didn't and so, she didn't worry. Just as Ophelia wanted it.
