So, instead of Avocado dying first chapter, it was actually Shuichi.

Rantaro basically took over as smart detective (bc yes) and yee.

Genre: ... Angst. And some fluff.
Warnings: Hydraulic press., chapter 5, spoilers. Also, I'm lazy, so... The ending of the trial isn't gonna be accurate. Probably.

Also Rantaro is actually going to care about Kokichi, and worry about how he actually feels.

Rantaro's P.O.V

Gonta's execution was... Absolutely awful. I couldn't believe it. I looked over at Kokichi, who had a look of genuine horror and sadness on his face.

But the second he noticed I saw him, that look was replaced with a.... Different kind of sadness. A look that could scare you at first glance, but if you took a second to steady it, you'd realize it was to cover up the pain.

"Hey... Kokichi.. What was the truth? The truth or the outside world?" I asked gently.

"Yeah! Was it really as bad as you say? Tell us!" Tsumugi pushed.

Kokichi paused. Everyone stared at him. Slowly, he mumbled something.

"What..?"

"I don't want to, stupidhead!" He shouted. A look of pure malice and evil had taken over his features.

I stumbled back a bit, his sudden outburst completely unexpected.

"Did you fall for all that fake crying?! You're so dumb! I would never cry for Gonta!"

That's a lie.

The look on his face was too real. It only confirmed it more when he changed his expression the moment he saw me.

"Hey... Kokichi... It's oka-"

"If Gonta knew what I was really thinking, he would've gotten mad! So I lied to keep the game going smoothly~"

"The game...?"

"Jeez, Rantaro, you don't get it! If we had had some stupid argument over something as stupid as this, it would've gotten boring! So obviously, lying to Gonta was the best choice."

So then why did you look so upset when he died...?

"If I wanted to save everyone like Gonta did, I wouldn't have betrayed him! I just did all that to liven the game up! God, you all are sooo stupid!"

We all looked at Kokichi, shock evident on everyone's faces. I stepped closer.

"Kokichi-" I held out my hand towards him a bit.

"Who cares about that idiot?! I enjoy the suffering and betrayal that comes from this game!! I am the supreme leader of evil." He chuckled, sending a slight shiver down my spine. "The more you suffer, the more I enjoy it..."

Kokichi smirked evilly, and slapped my hand away.

I continued watching as Kokichi and the others argued back and forth, until kaito clearly had enough, and sprinted towards him.

In a matter of seconds, Kaito was on the ground.

"Kaito!" Maki called, quickly rushing to his side.

"Whoops! I tried to Dodge you, but I guess I punched you. Sooorrryyy, Kaito! But hey... You seem a lot slower than normal."

"What are you getting at??? Do you wanna die?!" Maki placed a hand on Kaito's shoulder.
