The sound of heavy footsteps reached close to her cabin, making Y/N's head shoot up immediately, drying away her tears, she sat up straight. The door opened, and there he stood.

"Oh my God..."

"I am." The man said, his voice hoarse and smoky. He looked no less than a Greek God as he smiled at her in an appealing manner and entered in like he owned the place.

"Nice drapes." She muttered, looking at his attire.

"They are." He whispered, amusement dancing in his eyes. "So, you are the girl they found in the woods, huh?"

"I am. I-I was evicted from my village a month ago. I fell in-fell in love with a foreign man-" Without uttering any other words, she burst into tears over again. What was her fault if she'd fallen for him? They'd cursed her, abused her and then killed her lover right in front of her eyes.

"Shhh...don't worry...little one. You're safe here." He walked to her bed and sat down close to her, the bed creaking as he sat. He wrapped a warm arm around her tiny body and she felt safe already. "Where is your...lover?"

"They-they killed him."

"That must be devastating for you." He pulled her close, allowing her to cry on his chest and rubbed tiny circles on her back. "I-we'll take care of you, tiny one."

She looked so beautiful to him now, feeling all safe in his presence. Her face had gone all red from the crying. The moonlight from the window caste an enchanting silhouette over her face. It took all his powers to not kiss off her tears right now.

"Take it all out, let the emotions flow." He rubbed her back soothingly as she hiccuped and sniffed. Finally, it came to a rest. "That's a good girl."

He tugged a few strands of hair behind her ear and used the pad of his thumb to dry off the tears from her face. She was already giving in to his soft touch, tilting her head for him. She'd craved comfort.

"Thank you...for letting me stay here and-just thank you." A knock on the door startled her.

"Must be your food." He shrugged, and opened the door. As he opened the door, the servant's eyes widened as the size of a saucer. "Leave it to me, Cynthia." Taking the tray of food, he slammed the door behind her and arranged it on Y/N's bed.

"I don't have the appetite-"

"You'll eat anyways." He cut her off, taking a spoonful of soup and bringing it to her mouth. "Sip."

Just like that, he made her eat to her full in a complete silence, knowing well she didn't bother much about her diet back in those woods. He would never let her be hungry anymore.

"What's your name?" He asked her while she stretched her muscles.

"Y/N."

"That's a beautiful name."

"Where am I, though?"

"Asgard. First take some rest, then I'll show you around. It is a wonderful place, the Asgardians will love you, mortal." He stood up, ready to leave.

Mortal?

"What about you, who are you?" She whispered, feeling sleep take over.

"You'll know me soon, my little mortal." With a soft kiss on her forehead, he left her and she drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.
