Hmm. It seems Stephanie has traveled out of my grasp. What a shame. I suppose I'll have to start with Sebastian then - how unfortunate. I really had wanted to see him cry when he heard of Stephanie's murder. Yes, the sweet, relaxing screams. Music to my ears.
How silly that people think I'm doing this all myself. Obviously I could if I wanted to, I'm more than capable of doing so, but who's to refuse the help of a true criminal?
It's really lovely how my aunt dropped everything to come join me, perhaps she missed the thrill of killing. I'd heard, and read, much about her murders. They were very interesting.
She had only got caught because of a small mistake, but a careless one. Very stupid. The teeniest hair, a small strand just lying on the floor. They'd scanned it and the DNA had shown the police who to arrest.
I had been delighted to hear of her escape, slipping out right under the guard's noses. I had also known that Burches would be a perfect place for her to hide, such a small, innocent town that had such a weak police force.
I am feeling pretty enthusiastic though, I feel like it's the right time to get rid of Sebastian once and for all, especially when he's miserable because of Stephanie's absence. Yes, I'll strike soon, and my aunt and I will commit the perfect crime.
Stephanie
I finish unpacking towards nighttime, not because I had much to unpack, just because I can't decide where to put things. It might sound stupid, it probably will, but I want everything to be perfect. I call Sonia once and tell her how I felt, and she wisely says that it is a mutual feeling, I just want my new life to start well.
I can't help being a little hurt when I hear of her date tonight, I've been gone for only a few hours and she is already continuing her life as she normally would.
Then I realise I am being selfish, and that my best friend deserves happiness more than anyone else I've ever met.
That's when I hear a knock at my door. "Come in."
Harvey enters the room, his face the picture of sorry. He sheepishly hands me a bouquet of flowers and I gasp with delight. "Harvey! These are beautiful, thank you so much."
He blushes, then coughs. "I really didn't mean to hurt you then, I completely forgot about..." He shakes his head. "Anyways, just wanted to apologise."
"Oh Harvey, it's alright. I know you didn't mean it."
"Thanks Stephanie." His eyes widen. "Oh! And dinner is ready. Patricia will kill us both of we don't go down soon."
"Sounds like you're afraid of her."
"Of course not!" I look at him sceptically, but can tell he's telling the truth. "She can just be a little offensive at times."
