Chapter 2

I woke up.

But neither in my room, nor in the woods, nor in my car, nor in Liam's arms.

A piece of me hoped secretly to wake up and see the last option being reality.

I woke up in a field. A wheat field. What did I do here? Where was this field? What happened? Why was I alone?

Slowly but steady I started to panic. I looked around and around. There was nobody I could I ask to help me. Nobody to answer my questions.

Then I had a proper look at myself. I was wearing a knee-long white dress. It looked so pure. I looked so pure.

But then I lifted my gaze from my dress up to the fields.

Suddenly I saw something making its way towards me.

What was that? It wasn't human, I was sure.

A human could never ever have such an intense and bright light around itself.

It came closer and closer.

My mouth dropped open and my eyes widened.

No. No. This had to be a freaking dream. Beings like her only appeared in movies.

A woman, in the probably age of 25, appeared in front of me.

She had bronze coloured, shoulder long hair. Her hair was wavy and glossy.

I guessed I'd have done anything to get her hair.

Her eyes had a deep ocean blue colour, just stunning and very rare. Those blue eyes sparkled and sparkled.

I got lost in them, like hypnotised. I guess if she'd tell me to jump off a bridge, I'd have done it - she was THAT hypnotising. Her face didn't look feminine, in fact it looked pure and innocent. A child could have had her face as well. The freckles on her cheeks and nose made her look cute.

I felt like a cat got my tongue, I wasn't able to question her. I couldn't. Every word I had learned, seemed gone and lost.

She was so beautiful.

The female smiled at me compassionately.

"I am sorry if I scared you. I did not want to, really."

She paused, expecting an answer. It was my turn to speak.

"Who are you?", I asked her cautiously.

"Sure, you do not know who I am.", her eyes sparkled. A smile hushed over her face. "I am Thea. And you are Aria Golden, I know."

As I wanted to open my mouth to ask how she knew who I was, she cut me off. And this question was really unnecessary - I mean, this situation was creepy. Alone. Field. Angel-like woma- wait. Angel-like?

"I know everyone being stuck here. And obviously you are one of them.", she said, playing and stroking the wheat.

"Do you know where you are, Aria?"

I shook my head and she kept smiling gorgeously.

"This place", she surveyed the environment, "is where you land if you are... Well, in the preliminary stage of death."

I forgot to breathe for a moment. Did that mean I was dead?

Thea saw my shock and held my hand. I had no clue about what caused my death. I had a blackout.

"If you want me to show you what happened, you have to concentrate, okay?"

"Okay.", I nodded and held her hand tightly.
