I liked how sleep could change my mood.

It's like falling into nothingness. Constantly feeling like I was floating but the sensations were dulled. I also couldn't feel anything else.

Sleep provided the best escape for me.

Whenever I had a bad day, I would crave sleep and when I wake up after a long slumber I would feel refreshed. It made me energized and relaxed.

It made each day more bearable.

But, today, I felt like waking up from my sleep was the start of a long nightmare.

"Rise and shine, Lil' Miss Sunshine!" Ashton sang.

His voice carried happiness that was meant to cheer me up. Except I shouldn't see him first thing in the morning. My eyes widened like saucers.

Because. . .why are we alone together?

At six in the morning.

And within an unfamiliar bedroom!

We. . .did we spend the Christmas Eve together last night? On this bed?

I hastily pulled the thick white comforter to cover my strikingly almost-bare chest. My cheeks reddened, knowing he probably saw my not-so-full cleavage.

My clothes!

I scanned the room and found my heels scattered on the carpeted floor beside my purse and my gown hanging on the chair by the dresser.

Did I undress myself in front of this guy?

Omg.

What happened last night?

Realization dawned on me as the devious son-of-a-Lucifer-Demon-Monster-Incarnate―

"Your face screams profanity towards me, Ley?" He chuckled as he dried his wet mass of hair.

He seemed fresh from a warm shower. With traces of water on his bare chest, some droplets slipping from his flushed cheeks, and only a white towel was covering his lower half. . .

He was stunning. Gorgeous.
And smoldering sexy. . .

I hated to admit how attractive his chiseled and well-built body was. Right amount of muscles at the right places.

Definitely no longer a bamboo tree.

"W-What am I―cough―" I stuttered and choked on thin air.

A smug smirk formed on his lips.

I was sure how aware he was that he had this beautiful physique. And a devastating effect on women.

He confidently brushed a small towel through his hair in a lazy attempt to dry them. His muscles flexed in certain angles.

Was he trying to show them off?

I felt a weird kind of knot in the pit of my tummy. His body was simply too distracting. I cleared my throat.

"What are we doing here?" I managed to ask, still clutching the comforter to cover myself up.

He lowered his lashes and gave me one of his signature flirty looks. The weird sensation magnified despite my awareness that he was only teasing me.

"What do you think we, grown and perfectly healthy adults, did last night?"

His voice sounded breathy, almost huskily sexy. Like he was trying to seduce me. My ears felt hot and I could imagine how red my face must be, in that moment.

As Ashton stepped towards me, I subconsciously tried to crawl away. "W-What are you doing? Don't get any closer!"

Feeling the growing panic, my eyes searched the room for an escape.
