"Y/n... I'm nervous," Robert told me as he messed with his tie.
"Rob, it's gonna be ok. It's just my parents," I said.
"Yeah that's the problem," he said.
"I didn't freak out when it was time for me to meet your parents," I said.
"This is different. Your dad is going to just try to put me down the entire time," he said.
"You'll be ok, now come on," I said kissing his cheek.
We went inside my house and my parents looked at us.
"You must be Robert! It's so good to finally meet you, y/n has told us a lot about you," Mom said.
Robert smiled then she gave him a hug.
"Nice to meet you Mr. l/n," he said.
Dad just nodded then we sat down at the table.
Robert sat beside me then we all talked while we ate.
"So when are you guys getting engaged?" Mom asked.
I chocked on my food a little bit and Robert covered his face.
Mom looked at Robert then he moved his hands and said peek-a-boo making me laugh.
"That escalated very quickly," I said.
"Don't get me wrong, I love y/n a lot but I don't think we're ready for marriage yet," he said nervously chuckling.
"Oh... just a thought," she said.
Robert and I looked at each other and chuckled.
Other than that question the dinner went pretty well, Robert and my Dad got along pretty well too.
We left then drove home.
"Well that was interesting," he said chuckling.
"I don't know why my Mom would ask that. We've only been dating for a year," I said.
He nodded then held my hand.
"Would you say yes if I did propose to you in the future?" He asked.
"Of course," I said.
He smiled then kissed my hand softly.
