The rest of the day went by fast and a the bell to dismiss us rang. I hadn't seen any of "the five" around since lunch, and I was grateful. I didn't want to see them until Mr. Turner starts to get on my case about it. Mr. Turner is insane to think that I would ever go up and talk to them.

I was shoving my books in my locker when I felt a presence behind me. I turned around and almost crashed into an unsuspecting Dylan.

He grabbed my waist to steady me and then I noticed I had my hands on his shoulders. I quickly took a step back and averted my eyes from Dylan. He let his hands drop to his sides and I crossed my arms.

I could see Dylan smiling from the corner of my eye and I returned my gaze on him.

"All I was expecting was my book, but luck must be on my side" said Dylan.

Luck?

I furrowed my brows in confusion; Dylan's smile just widened. I narrowed my eyes at him and grabbed his textbook from my locker. I handed it to him and he took it.

"Here you go" I said while closing my locker.

I took out my keys and began to walk away. Dylan caught my arm and he spun me around. I fell into his chest at the sudden movement, but I distanced myself in a flash. A look of disappointment crossed his features, but he quickly covered it with his knee weakening smile.

"Hey so I'm throwing a party this Friday. Do you want to come" asked Dylan, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

The confident Dylan that approached me a minute ago was gone and replacing him was a nervous boy who was scared of my answer.

"No, I'd rather not" I said, trying to let him down easy.

"You could bring your friends" said Dylan quickly.

"What friends" I snapped.

I instantly felt bad for taking my anger out on Dylan, but I was too stubborn to apologize.

"Those guys you were hanging out with today. The one that wouldn't keep your eyes off you all Physics seemed like your friend, maybe more" he said, trapping me into his gaze with his hazel eyes.

"They aren't-".

Tommy chose that time to come up to us. He slapped Dylan on the back and grinned. Then he noticed me. His grin disappeared and a look of confusion covered his features.

"I better go" I said hitching my thumb over my shoulder toward the exit.

"See you Friday" said Dylan with hopeful eyes.

He looked like a kid on Christmas with his eyes so bright. I sighed and gave him a weak smile, not giving him a real answer.

I walked out of the school building and went around back to my car. The four other cars were still there, but boys were leaning up against them.

Or, the five were by their cars.

I knew I couldn't go over there without them recognizing me. I sucked in a breath and just waited.

10 minutes later, they finally decided to get in their cars and go home. Only Austin and Nathan stayed behind and went back to the school. When they were out if sight, I quickly ran to my car and started home.
