Regain's POV:
I couldn't believe I let my guard down. The boy that was in the office, who I learned was Jackson, had this strange feel.
He felt safe.
Jackson and I walked to Physics in silence. I wasn't planning on speaking, afraid I would let something slip.
I tried so hard to keep myself away from people, men especially.
I shuddered at the thought of him.
I couldn't even think of him without my knees weakening and my hands getting clammy.
He was my worst nightmare.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a door being opened. Jackson pushed the classroom door to reveal a not so happy teacher, Mr. Paul.
"What do you two think your doing coming into my class late? You may be seniors, but your just as much able to fail science like any other student" spat Mr. Paul.
Mr. Paul is an old troll like teacher who only likes his black coffee and chalkboard. He's the only teacher in the school that still has the old black board.
Maybe it was because it's the only thing that won't run away from him and his toxic breath.
"We were at the office sir. Sorry for the hold up" said Jackson with a breath taking smile.
"Who might you be, young man" said Mr. Paul with a raised eyebrow.
The class watched in confusion as Jackson introduced himself and the teacher didn't rip his head off.
I was quite shocked too.
What nearly knocked me off my feet was that Mr. Paul smiled at Jackson.
Jackson took a seat next to another unknown face, but they seemed to know each other.
I sat down at the opposite side of the classroom as Jackson and rubbed my eyes.
Then I remembered that I didn't have my books. I was going to get them after the meeting in the Mr. Turner's.
My breathing picked up and I started to sweat.
What was Mr. Paul going to do? He surly wouldn't let me go without a punishment. Last time I forgot my books in a class was when I got detention for a week. What if I got detention again?
What would he do?
I didn't feel the tap on my shoulder until they flicked me on the ear. I turned and saw Tommy's best friend, Dylan, with a worried expression. That was unusual.
"You ok? You looked like you were having a panic attack" whispered Dylan as he searched my face.
I swallowed and wiped my sweaty hands on my jeans.
"I'm fine" I whispered hoarsely.
Dylan furrowed his eyebrows and looked at my empty desk. He grinned a little and moved his textbook to my lap.
I looked at him in confusion and he pulled out another book.
"Use mine. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble with the old guy. I'll use my math book instead" said Dylan with a wink.
He turned forward with a little grin still on his face. I shook my head in confusion. The only time he had talked to me was when we had to do a English project with each other sophomore year. Never would he go out of his way to talk to me, nor be nice.
