In Luisiana, on July 13, 2001, an angel was born to Sonya Easily Mazzella and Thomas Allen Mazzella.  This angel was named Haylee Danyelle Mazzella, nicknamed "Baby Girl".  Haylee loved to play outside, and the color pink. She also enjoyed the simple things in life, the ones we take for granted. Dispite the fact she was a girl, she also had her tomboy side.  She absolutely loved catching lizards and keeping them as pets.  She liked helping "DaDa" in the garden, or cutten grass, just as long as they were together, she was happy.  Her favorite toys of all time, was dinosours.  Nevertheless she was always getting in to Mommy's makeup bag, play dress-up, and laugh at just how much fun it is to be together (just like any other 4 year old).  One of the most wonderful things about Baby Girl, was that she was always, always smiling no matter what.  She was the sweetest little girl; she was never mean to anyone.  She loved everyone; She adored her family.  She was the most beautiful child anyone has ever seen. But, I'm not here to tell you about what she loves. I am here to tell you how she died.

At around 4:00 on Saterday, June 3, 2006, her family had a barbeque to celebrate summer.  "Come on Haylee, out of the pool," Said Sonya, "I need to change your brother before we leave."

"Please Mommy? Just 10 more minutes? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" Said Haylee.  Just then, her step-grandmother (who will remain annonomous for obvious reasons)offered to watch her, and her mom reluctantly agreed. Baby girl was having such a great time splashing in the pool and swimming around.  The sun was burning against her taned skin, slowly turning it a daker shade while turning her blonde hair lighter. And her blue eyes shined brighter next to the water.

"Haylee, I'll be right back.  I need to refill my lemonade." Said the step-grandmother.  While she was inside, Sonya heard people shouting, "Call 9-1-1 quick!!" thinking it was just a brocken ancle or some other minor injury like that unknowing that her life will change forever.  She takes her baby son and runs out side to her four year old daughter getting C.P.R.  Baby Girl was lifeless.

Haylee Danyelle Mazzella passed away when she was just four years, two weeks, and six days old due to a stupid mistake and a needless drowning.  Allthough we lost a wonderful child, heaven gained a beautiful angel.  Haylee would be a little over 13 years old today if her step-grandmother wasn't so stupid.  Rest in peace Baby Girl. We all miss you
