His parents didn't want him to go. They tried to persuade him to stay. They even threatened to drain his bank account but nothing could keep Louis from getting on that plane to New York.
It's been a month since their phone call where they discussed Louis coming and now it's real. In a few hours Louis will be in Harrys arms and everything in the world will be right. His parents think he's going for school - Harry just being the added bonus.
When he's sitting on the plane -his carry on safely tucked away - he lets himself smile and bounce in his seat. He finally gets to see him again. Two weeks with the person he's missed far too much for far too long. He feels like a child on Christmas Eve, all excited and giggly.
The plane ride is short because he sleeps and dreams of green eyes and wide smiles. He can practically feel his large hands covering his small ones and his heart is pounding by the time the plane lands on the American soil. He's here. He's in New York and he's going to see his baby.
As soon as he can leave the cramped plane he's rushing to the gates. The only thing on his mind is Harry, Harry, Harry. That's what's always on his mind and it intensifies the closer he gets. The airport is huge - much larger than the one at home - and Louis panics instantly. He'll never find Harry here. He's going to get lost in this big place with all these people. He's on the verge on tears when he sees him.
Harry is just in front of him, his smile bigger than it's ever been and his hair falling messily around his face. Louis can feel his breath catch and then he's moving so fast the world blurs around him. He falls into Harrys arms with a small whimper, breathing in his welcoming scent, feeling more at home in this strange city with him than he ever does at home.
"Lou," Harry whispers, his lips pressing softly against the shorter boys head. Louis just moves closer, squeezing Harrys thin frame as tight as he can without hurting him.
"Stop hugging me and give me a kiss," Harry laughs. Louis smiles at how warm his voice is and pulls back just enough that he can lean up and kiss his boyfriends soft lips. They're better than he remembered and Harry is better than he remembered.
"I missed you. So happy you're here," Harry whispers against his lips, leaning back in to place a small, chaste kiss before he pulls away again. Louis can't even reply to him because he's still so in shock. He's in New York right now with Harry. He's here.
Harry grabs his hand, not phased by Louis' silence and leads him to the bag check. He chatters on about his apartment and his job. He talks about some of the friends he's made and the restaurant he's taking Louis to later.
"It's this cute little Indian place. My friend Cara showed it to me. She's the one that got me my job actually. She's like some hot shot of something," Harry rambles and Louis relaxes more as Harrys low voice carries through the air.
"You talk a lot," Louis chuckles. Harry just looks down at him, his eyes so green and bright. It's so hard to look at him because he's glowing and beautiful, but for those reasons you don't want to look away.
"I'm excited! I get to introduce you to everyone. Everyone's so excited to meet you," Harry exclaims and Louis just shakes his head at the boys excitement. He spots his bag and leaves Harrys warm side to quickly grab it. Harry is quick to follow and grab it from Louis' small hands, easily pulling it away.
"I'll take it. I don't actually have a car so my friend Zayn offered to pick us up," Harry explains. "He's an art student at NYU. He's an amazing artist actually."
Louis hums and follows Harry outside. It's even busier out here and Louis clings tight to his boyfriend so he doesn't get lost. Harry is talking to Zayn on the phone, mumbling something about a meeting spot. Louis just takes the time to really look around.
