Deep, deep in the woods, there is an orphanage ran by a single person that every child calls Mom. Mom made breakfast, read stories, and did everything she could that was motherly to these orphaned children.

A chill ran in her spine as she went up into her room and put on her cloak, and transformed into a hideous old lady with tangled black hair, warts covering her face, and terrifying sharp teeth. She dashed out of the small house and into the entrance of the woods.

"What is it that you wish to rid of?" She shrieked. The irresponsible parents laid their sacrifice down. A child once again. The witch, already hating the parents, waited their responses

"We have hardships we must rid, Give us your blessing and we will give you the kid." The parents chanted, looking down, for they feared of looking up at the rumored hideous beast.

"Give me the child and I will make all your hardships vanish!" She screeched once more as the parents gave her the child in cheap dirty cloths.

Parents cared so little in their own offspring that they would give them to a total stranger. Truthfully, she made the problem harder, but no one seemed to know that yet. She took the child, threw up a chalky dust in the air, and totally vanished.

Making her way back to the orphanage, still cradling the child, she slowly turned back into her old motherly figure.

She held the newest child, feeding it its bottle. The orphan children she had collected over the years gathered around her.

"One day," She said in her normal, gentle tone. "One day I will not be able to take any more children. I will be too old to run and take foolish parents children."
The children around her grew sad. The witch smiled though. "Don't worry. Each and everyone of you are able to take over when I grow old and pass. When you feel that chill run down you, you'll know there are greedy, foolish parents waiting for a deal."

One sentence echos in her mind as she slowly took her last breath. Her last smile at her children. A last look at each of her saved children
           "Thanks Mom, we love you."
She smiled as she took her last words.
"I love you too." as she shut her eyes, and finally at peace, she slept.
