Drowning is an odd sensation,
You get pulled, pulled, pulled deep down.
You can feel your pulse deep in your veins,
You can feel the oxygen leave your body,
And most times you panic until you're no longer able to.
Drowning is an odd sensation,
You know it's about to happen,
You can feel it slowly taking your life,
Stealing any hope you had for survival,
Like a theif in the night.
Drowning is an odd sensation,
Because it can happen at any time.
Today, tomorrow, next week, two years,
Downing can happen in a pool, a lake, and most commonly the bedroom.
Most commonly, my bedroom.
Drowning is an odd sensation,
Its something that comes at night,
Creeping up behind you.
Something that pulls you under when you least expect it to.
Pulls me under when I least expect it to.
Drowning is an odd sensation,
But a sensation that I am most familiar with.
