As Makar stepped out of his shop, he was stunned to see people huddled around in the town square. They spoke amongst themselves as he tried to make his way through the crowd.
"Why is everyone gathered around here?" He muttered.
"The king is looking for his daughter." A nearby voice answered.
Makar's eyes widened. "King Vassar?"
"Yes, and King Silas is here as well." Another person replied.
Pushing past everyone, Makar made his way to the front of the crowd and almost immediately, his eyes met Norman's. Their expressions faltered at the sight of one another, but they nodded in understanding. Makar disappeared into the crowd before rushing back into his shop.
He began to think—if he left through the back entrance, then he could go through the alleyway which led to the forest. He only worried if he could make it without being spotted.
Makar's head peeked out as he opened the door, he sighed with relief as he saw that it was clear.
He was exceptionally stealthy as he moved through the narrow alleyway, avoiding being seen by the guards as he passed by each building. After making it safely down the hill, Makar continued to move as fast as he could, weaving through the trees in a blur.
Clara watched from afar as Makar traveled through the forest, he was surprisingly fast, she thought. She could appreciate his urgency to get to Timena, but she wouldn't let him get very far. Focusing her energy on the target, Clara let her powers seep into his mind—all too soon, confusion took over as Makar could no longer remember where he was going. His surroundings became unfamiliar as he came to a stop, standing around aimlessly.
Gracefully, Clara approached him from behind. "Return to your shop, everything is as it should be." She whispered into his ear.
Makar blinked several times before turning around and heading back towards the direction he'd come from.
Clara watched him for a while before his figure finally disappeared. Now that Makar had been dealt with, she needed to give someone else a nudge in the right direction.Timena stood by the water, wondering what could have made Clara leave so abruptly. At times, it felt as though she were being honest, but occasionally, her actions were cause for suspicion.
Timena's surroundings were quiet as she began to walk back towards the stable.
It was the sound of yelling in the distance that caused her to tightly grip her sword. She moved behind the cover of a tree, trying to figure out her next move.
Timena crouched down as she went back in the direction of the pond. Another loud cry sounded as she began to move.
Well, shit.
She ran down the hill and moved around the pond quickly before approaching the woods. The countless trees hid any sunlight that might try to come in, which created an eerie sensation as she continued forward. As fast as she ran, the loud voices she'd heard seemed to be gaining on her. How could this happen? Again...
Not only did Timena not know where she was going, but her surroundings were starting to blend together, as though she'd been running around in circles even though she'd known that wasn't the case.
"Timena!" The voices called out.
She panicked, trying to find a tree big enough to hide behind. Panting heavily, she stood against the tree as she tried to stay still.
"Timena darling, where are you?" Vassar called out as the guards moved passed him in a hurry.
Silas went along with them as he looked around, he was determined to get her back.
A mist was forming as Timena crouched down into the thick undergrowth, moving around quietly.
Footsteps were catching up to her as her heart pounded loudly in her ears, shaky breaths left her lips as she crouched down even further.
As the undergrowth began to recede, she was back to hiding behind trees. She trembled as a pair of footsteps got closer.
"You're a difficult one to find," Silas spoke loudly, he was too close.
He looked behind one tree and then behind another, he smiled, treating it as though it were a game.
"I'm getting closer, aren't I?" He asked, peeking behind another tree.
Timena could hear the satisfaction in his voice, she was becoming increasingly irritated as her body shook with anger. Just before he could peek around the tree that she'd been hiding behind, her sword came out to greet him.
Moving forward, Silas moved back as the sword was only a few inches away from his neck.
Guards eventually began to appear as well as her father, Norman, and Miro.
"Surrender Timena, it's over." Her father said gently. She felt betrayed and it fueled her anger.
"Listen to your father, my princess." Silas added.
"Go fuck yourself." Timena spat out, and he chuckled. His men began to slowly approach her, and she pushed the sword closer to his neck. They immediately halted at King Silas' silent demand.
"Darling please." King Vassar pleaded with her, but she paid him no mind. She continued to hold her sword up at Silas, but he slowly began to retreat.
Now, the first two guards came in her direction and as they reached a close distance, Timena jumped up kicking one in the chest before landing on her side and using her foot to sweep the second guard's feet from off the ground and they fell instantly. She spun around landing on both feet before standing up, bringing her sword up once more to face her next opponent.
"Astounding," Silas said in awe before laughing. "Fight me."
"No." She replied sternly. "Just let me go."
"You know I can't do that." He replied sincerely.
