"Toni, open this door!" I rolled my eyes at the sound of Kenny's voice & his fist banging on the door.
I stood in the mirror of the guest room bathroom, cleaning my bloody nose. I winced at the pain from the sting of the peroxide. Sighing, I ran my finger across the light bruise on my cheek. It wasn't anything a little makeup couldn't fix it.
"Toni, I'm not playing with your ass! Open this fucking door!"
"Leave me alone, Kenny," I responded, continuing to clean up my face.
I heard him sigh deeply before speaking. "Look baby, I'm sorry. Okay? I really am sorry. Just open the door & let me fix my mistake,"
I stayed silent, putting up the supplies I used. After glancing at myself once more, I quietly made my way to the door. My hand reached for the knob but I didn't turn it just yet.
"Toni, please. I'm so sorry. Just open the door," He pleaded. He sounded sincere, but I highly doubted that he actually was.
I took a deep breath & slowly opened the door. I knew that I would eventually have to come out & I didn't want to make him any more upset.
His eyes light up, seeing me step out of the room. He smiled at me & motioned for me to come closer to him. I hesitated, but I went.
I slowly walked up closer to him. His smile quickly faded, & that look that I knew all too well crept upon his face. Before I could make any movement, he pinned me against the wall, choking me.
"When I tell your little stupid ass to do something, I expect you to do it right then! You don't get to do things whenever you feel like it," He growled, tightening his grip on my neck.
I couldn't breathe. I couldn't do anything but reach out my hands, hoping he would let me go.
A tear rolled down my cheek causing him to sigh.
Kenny let go of me, letting my drop to the ground. He squatted to the ground & shook his head, "You make me do this to you, Toni. If you just do what I ask of you, then we wouldn't have these problems .. Now, would we?"
I just looked at him. He was really trying to play mind games with me.
