Phoebe's POV

My family sang to me since it's my birthday. "Thanks mom and dad" "no problem mi princessa" i hugged my mom and dad and my little sister Jessica Sanchez. "Breakfast is ready, go ahead and get dress" i nodded and got up and went to my bathroom. I'm Finally 18 and i can't wait to get out of school. I mean I love learning but I hate the students at school. Anyway i strip from my clothes and turned on the water so it can get warm. I get into the water and i instantly relax. I love the way the hot water hits my back. I wash my hair and body and i smell like tropical fruit.

I get out and wrap a purple towel around my body. I dry myself and put on my lacy pair of undergarments. Then I go to my closet and choose an outfit. I decided to wear a long sleeve striped shirt with a pair of jeans and flats. Yeah i may not dress like a nerd besides my glasses and always wearing a ponytail but still a nerd and i don't care. Anyway i go to the kitchen and see some cake and breakfast and i scarf it down and my parents didn't look surprise since I'm gonna find my mate today and he should get used to seeing me eat like that.

"Okay I'm off" "Okay mija, don't forget, we have the alphas party today but don't forget to find your mate" i nodded and kissed my parents on the cheek and waited my sister to clean up her plate "te espero en el carro(I'll be waiting for you in the car)" i told my sis. She yelled an okay and I got into my car and started it. I turn the radio and volbeat blasted through the speakers. My car is a simple ford pick up truck from the the 1990's. I have this obsession with old cars.

She finally gets in and i drive to school. We arrive and she immediately goes and find her friends. I don't really have friends, i usually sit to another to girls but rheumatoid ignore me during lunch when i eat there. I go to my first period and i just get my journal and start doodling. I'm do ahead in every class that i don't even need to come to school like my attendance would be taken care of.

School was finally over and i went home not waiting for my sister since her friends were giving her a ride. I arrive and i sit down on the couch. My mom and dad are both warriors and the strongest. I'm a good fighter too but I'm shy and i hate fighting so that's also a reason I also get bullied sometimes. "How was school" "good and no i didn't find my mate if you're wondering" she smiled sheepishly at me. I just bursted laughing and she laughed too. "Well we better get dress, the party will be in a 3 hours and the Bloodlust pack is coming" Okay so it's time to get all fancy.

I left my hair the way it was and just looked for a dress. It was a purple skater dress and i pair it with black pantyhose and black converse. Yes I don't own heels because i hate them. Okay lie, I like them but i can't wear them because i don't know how to walk in them. Anyway i put on a black cardigan and put on purple lipstick. I have this side of me that likes dark stuff. I like rock, punk music that only my family knows. Like at home I'm outgoing but outside of my house I'm shy.

I put on a but of guy cologne, which i really love alot. Anyway i went downstairs and watched Bones on Netflix. I was watching all of the series again from the first episode. I was in the last episode of season 5 where both booth and bones leave. I was teary eyed. Finally my parents and sister came and she was wearing a dress like Ariana Grande from her music video with Mac Miller and wearing killer heels. She looked pretty. Anyway we drive for about 5 min till we reach the pack house. I see a bunch of unknown cars and I'm guessing it's from the blood lust pack.

We enter and i smell something sweet but it's very faint. My wolf Phoenix was chanting mate. I was excited but i know he's not here since his amazing scent of nature and the sea was faint. Soon the party was at full swing and the adults were inside while us kids and teenagers were outside listening to music or dancing. I wasn't doing that. I was on my phone reading on wattpad. Soon the same amazing scent was back and i knew my mate was here.

I put my phone away and looked for him till i reach him and he had a girl in his arms. He smelled me too and turned around and saw me. "Mate we said at the same time but it was so low that it seemed if it was just being mouthed. He excuse himself and signal me to follow him. I followed him till we were out of earshot. "I'm alpha Lance Mustow of the Bloodlust pack" he said with a British accent. "Look, we have to talk about our future" i nodded saying for him to go on.

"Your beautiful, but i can't have a mate for an emo nerd okay. What kind of message is it sending. Anyway what I'm trying to say is that, i don't accept you or reject you. I'm still indecisive but I'll give you a chance, whenever I'm ready. I'm going to be sort of loyal to you, meaning sexually, like I'm not gonna like fuck the shit out of girls but it will be touching. I'm not ready for a mate yet, so I'm not rejecting your or accepting you" he said and walked away. I just collapsed to the floor and let the silent tears fall while my wolf cried in pain. It hurt because he didn't like me, it says that he thinks I'm a weak girl but he's so wrong. I'm as strong as a beta but only the alpha, beta and my parents know I'm that strong. Everyone else know i can fight.

I got up and ran home. I got to my bed and collapsed again. I cried because im not the perfect mate. So i decided that starting tomorrow I'm going to change. I'm going to show a different side of me that never existed. I'm gonna be badass. Tomorrow I'll go shopping and I'm gonna start to train with the pack and show them my full potential. I vow to myself I will change. If my mate wants a better me, then i will give him that. But I'm not gonna be that sweet girl that I am. I'm coming like a fireball.
