"Ow!" Liam yelled, jumping out of bed.
"Rise and shine sleepy head!" Liam's big sister Linda said. "Now that you're awake, let's get some breakfast before Lacy eats it all."
"Okay," Liam said, walking towards the kitchen with Linda.
"There is just enough food left and I smell chicken!" Liam said when they arrived.
"Hi guys," Lacy said.
"You might want to get Amy to brush your fur," Linda said.
"How?" Liam asked, speaking with his mouth full of food. "We are dogs, it's not like Amy knows how to speak dog."
"Don't talk with your mouth full, Liam," Linda said.
"Why?" Liam asked.
"Because it's rude," Linda told her brother.
"Do you guys have to fight every day?" Lacy asked.
"Yes," said Liam.
"No," said Linda.
"Yes," said Liam.
"No," said Linda.
"Ye-" Liam started to say.
"STOP!" Lacy yelled, interrupting Liam.
"Light bulb," Linda said, walking towards the dog brush.
She picked the brush up in her mouth and started walking towards the chair Amy sat in. Any was knitting a scarf she had been working on for weeks.
"Woof," Linda said, dropping the brush in Amy's lap.
Amy laughed and picked Linda up. Liam and Lacy ran over, tails wagging. Amy laughed again.
"Looks like my little puppies want their fur brushed," she said. Amy picked up the brush and started brushing the three puppies.
"That feels soo good," Liam said.
"Yeah," Linda said.
"Ditto," Lacy said.
"Look," Liam said lifting a paw to point at the apartment door. "It looks like there is a small door on the door."
"It is a puppy door I think," Linda said.
"Let's see where it leads to," Lacy said.
"But make sure Amy doesn't see us," Linda said.
"Okay," Liam said, keeping an eye on Amy, who had gone back to knitting, while slowly walking towards the puppy door.
"Okay," Lacy said, following her brother.
Linda followed Liam and Lacy.
"I'm free!" Liam said when they got into the hallway.
"Look," Lacy said, "I see some green stuff behind that door."
"And that door has a puppy door too," Liam said.
"Cool," Linda said, "let's go in there and explore."
