~Billy's P.O.V.~

I've been waiting out here for five minutes. I'm just about to go in when Kirra comes running out crying. I jump out of my car and go up to her.

"Kirra, what happened?" I ask the young girl. She just cries and points inside.

"Mommy and daddy....hitting....Kelli." she cries. I spring up and run inside. I see Kelli trying to escape her two parents. But her dad punches her to the ground. I know she's a strong girl, so there must be something stopping her from sending her parents to the hospital.

"Stop it!" I scream. Kelli and her parents look at me.

"What do you mean?" Mark asked me.

"You can fight all you want. But don't bring your daughters into it." I yell at them. They back away from Kelli and continue fighting. I help Kelli up and we walk outside into the car. Kirra comes running and wraps her arms around Kelli.

"I thought they'd kill you." she cries.

"Kirra, they could never kill me." Kelli says getting down to her level.

"But they tried to. Last night, daddy hit you and you fell asleep and wouldn't wake up for an hour." Kirra said hugging Kelli. Kelli looked up at me. I think she was hoping I wouldn't find that out.

"Kirra, why don't you walk over to Aunty Kessa's. I'll walk over with Kelli." I say, still looking at Kelli. She nods and starts down the block. The houses are only one block apart. Once Kirra's a ways away, Kelli speaks.

"Don't freak out, please." she says.

"Don't freak out?! Kelli, he tried to kill you!" I say. I'm not yelling, just speaking loudly.

"I know you're worried, but don't be. I can take care of myself." she tells me.

"Right. Like you did inside just now." I say.

"Billy, this is my fight not yours." she tells me.

"I know. Just, please let me help." I say. Well, more like beg.

"Fine. I'll let you help. But how?" Kelli asks.

"Well, first we tell the police about how they hit you. Then we ask your parents to just divorce." I tell her.

"Thank you. I love you, bro." she says leaning her head against my shoulder and wrapping her arm around me. I put my arm around her shoulders as we come to her aunt's house.

"You're welcome. Love you, too. Night!" I say.

"Goodnight!" she waves. Then she walks inside.

~Kelli's P.O.V.~

This might work. I'm happy Billy is willing to tell someone about how my parents hit me.

"Kirra! Kelli! What brings you here?" Aunt Kessa asks.

"Parents are fighting." I say running my fingers through my hair.

"They hit Kelli." Kirra blurts. Aunt Kessa looks at me.

"Billy's going to talk to the police." I tell her. She nods.

"Kirra, go on up to your room. I'm going to talk to sissy." Aunt Kessa says. Kirra nods and runs upstairs.

"What?" I ask.

"I found something interesting on Kyler's death." Aunt Kessa says.

"Sit." I say. We sit at the table and she starts to explain.

"It doesn't look like an accident. It's like someone did it on purpose." Aunt Kessa says. First, let me explain something about my aunt. She's a legal detective. I help her because she says I have the talent and nobody would suspect me the way I investigate.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"The semi. It didn't have a lisence plate. It also didn't have a title on the side. There is absolutely no way to trace it. Or so they think. We found finger prints that could lead to someone. We also did a DNA test on the man. We know who killed Kyler and why we believe it was on purpose." Aunt Kessa says. I take a deep breathe. I need to know who killed Kyler.

"Who?" I ask.

"Your father."
