Brothers

It's alright brother

"I swear sometimes you are so annoying that I wish I only had Noah as a younger brother" Alex says coldly 
Grayson's eyes filled with tears "i said i was sorry Alex i didn't mean to break mom's glass. It was an accident" 
"You knew that glass was special to me! To all of us! And you just had to run near the table when I told you not to!" Alex screams at him and takes a step near grayson, while grayson steps back 
"I'm sorry! Please Alex I didn't mean to I promise" grayson looks behind him "noah!" he screams thinking that he'll come down to save him. 
"Noah isn't gonna help you this time kid" 
"Yes he will! He always does!" 
Alex laughs and takes his hand and pushes grayson down. Grayson let's out a gasp as he's pushed down and looks up at his brother with hurt eyes 
"Alex.." 
"Why can't you be more like Noah, huh?!" Alex glares at him "he knows how to act while you act like you don't care what breaks! Just.." he sighs "just stay away from me Grayson" Alex says and walks away leaving grayson crying on the floor. 
"Alex! Alex please don't leave me!" Grayson cries

"Alex!" 
Grayson screams and sits up in his bed breathing heavily. He looks around and notices that he's in his room and starts to calm down "dream...it was just a dream" he mumbles to himself. 
But he can't get over the nightmare and wants Alex with him. He gets out of bed and goes towards his brothers room and opens the door
"Alex?" Grayson whispers before going inside. He walks quietly toward the bed and shakes Alex's shoulders 
"Alex wake up I need you" grayson says and shakes his shoulders some more "please alex" he whispers and a tear rolls down his face. 
Alex groans "what?" he rubs at his eyes and opens them "grayson?" he says and sits up "what's going on? Why are you out of bed this late?" 
Grayson sniffs "I had a nightmare and got scared" 
Alex frowns and opens his arms "come here kiddo" he says and grayson immediately jumps into his lap and wraps and arms and legs around him and cries into his neck. 
"Shhh shh it's okay now gray big brother has you shh" Alex soothes him and rocks him gently back and forth. He rubs his back with one hand and combs his fingers through his hair with the other hand. 
"Shh please calm down or you're gonna make yourself sick" Alex tells him with worry in his voice as grayson cries harder
"I.. I c-cant! You h-hate me!" Grayson yells into his neck and starts coughing as he cries. 
Alex eyes widened at the statement and also when he starts coughing. He rubs his back and pats it "grayson stop you're gonna get sick shhh please calm down for me and tell me what's going on" 
He feels grayson shake his head and sighs. He stands up with grayson still in his arms and walks back and forth while gently bouncing him 
"Shhhh..shhh baby brother it's alright" he soothes as he walks around in his arm and rubs his back "I don't know why you think I hate you but you should know that I don't. I love you so much" he bounces him some more as he talks "Noah loves you too we both do..shhh gray gray shhh" he kisses his head and starts humming. 
Soon grayson calms down and hiccups. Alex sits down on his bed with grayson on his lap and continues to rub his back. 
"Are you okay now? Can you tell me what's going on?" Alex asks him gently. 
Grayson sniffs and puts his head down on his shoulder "in my nightmare..I broke mom's glass and..and you told me you hate me" he tells him and buries his head into his brothers neck and cries. 
Alex heart hurts at hearing this and feels his neck getting wet. He frowns and gently pushes grayson's head away from his neck and uses his hand to tilt grayson's head up and wipes away some tears with his thumb 
"okay first please stop crying I hate it whenever you or Noah cries and second no matter what you do I will never hate you even if you break something important. You didn't break mom's glass because it was only in your dream it wasn't real." He smiles at him and kisses his forehead 
"Even if you do break her glass I won't hate you. I may be upset with it breaking but never ever will I hate you or Noah" 
Grayson smiles and hugs him "I'm sorry that i thought you hated me but it felt real and I got upset" 
"Hey no it's alright grayson. It's okay to feel upset about that. I'm not mad at you" he soothes him as he runs his fingers through his hair and kisses his head. 
"Would it make you feel better if you slept with me tonight?" Alex asks him with a smile as he sees grayson's eyes starting to close. 
Grayson sleepily nods his head into his chest "please" he says and Alex smiles and gently lays grayson down on the bed and gets in beside him. He puts the covers over them and turns the lights off. 
Alex wraps his arm around him and pulls him closer and grayson reacts and cuddles close to his brother and puts his head on his chest and an arm around his waist. Alex closes his eyes and kisses his brothers head one last time 'goodnight baby brother" he whispers and goes to sleep.
