After the execution Monokuma said that Nekomaru had returned, however before he could finish everyone ran out to greet him where they found out he became a robot. He seemed to have gotten stronger and even was able to withstand a bazooka. That made Hiyoko remember the day he first got blasted, when she realized how weak she was.
Despite his size Nekomaru nearly died protecting Akane from Monokuma's bazooka. Hiyoko wanted to get stronger and was also willing to work with the others until they got off the island however, when she saw Nekomaru on the ground dying because of his friendship with Akane she realized she could easily get killed or possibly be responsible for someone's death. She finally gained newfound strength to get through this killing game only to lose it immediately after. Hiyoko didn't feel like dealing with this.
It was night and everyone was tired. Tomorrow anew island would probably be unlocked. New island means a new motive. A new motive means a new murder. It's not something anyone would want to wake up to. Everyone went to their cottages and went to bed.
