Aurora's POV
Argh! i hate alarms!!! why do i have to go to class so early? oh yeah because it my job. don't get me wrong i love teaching college level but but God! its unbelievable how many students think that because we are close in age that they can hit on me all the time. it was cute and funny at first but now i just want to brake people's fingers.
i slowly got off the warm bed and walked to my closet, put on a pair of black dress pants, a red and white blouse and my red pumps; gathered my work bag and dragged myself to the kitchen to get some toast and coffee.
20 minutes later i was glad i had assigned parking because trying to park my ginormous truck in this university would suck!
"Rori!" Lucy yells at me from her car a few spots over.
"hey Lucy"
Lucianne is one of my closest friend since first year in college we both got teaching positions right at the same time. i teach Art History and she teaches Russian History
"Coffee?" we both said at the same time
"I'm so glad today is Friday I'm too tired to have to get up early tomorrow too" Lucy said while yawning
"ditto, plus i have a pile of papers and projects to grade so I'm probably stuck at home all weekend"
"when did life become so boring? we need to go out soon and get crazy like we used to"
"haha i don't think we would survive now"
we walked throught the cafeteria, grabbed some much needed coffee and went straight to the next door history building.
"see you at lunch?" i asked
"absolutely"
i walked into my empty classroom and started setting all the paper work on the desk. i swear this people never study there is no way that my tests are that hard. within 15 minutes the classroom was full. only a quarter of them were history majors and they seemed to be the only ones actually applying themselves.
"Good morning everyone, i know its early but we have a full class today, i also have your tests to return to you"
"how did we do" someone asked from the back of the classroom
" well the average is 70 but I'm afraid that it is only because a small group of people did very well pulling the average higher. the rest of you really need to study and let me remind you i do NOT curve grades"
the rest of the lesson went by fast since they were paying attention, most likely because the shock from the low grades was still fresh in the minds. see how long that lasts! they were all reading over the project outlines when my phone vibrated in my pocket, i walked behind my podium so i could read the text without anyone seeing me.
"race tonight. speedway. jesse gonzalez challenged you"
"i'll be there"
I looked up at my class and saw 5 people receive texts at the same time i knew they were racers too but they had no idea who i was. No one did
