Melanite remained sunken in her chair, quietly sobbing to herself, trying not to bring any more attention than she already had. Black Moonstone transferred...just to get away from her. What did she even do? Was she that annoying? Did others think so low of her, too...? How will she run the colony without a moonstone?

The door opened behind her. She jumped, and quickly wiping away her tears, she turned her chair around to face whoever entered. Her eyes widened.

        "Mocha-?" she started.

"No need, Melanite. I think you'll wanna know why I'm here," the gem giggled.

Melanite just stared. What in the stars was a sapphire from Taupe Diamond's court doing here...?

Mocha Sapphire hopped up, sitting on a counter. "I heard about what happened...and I wanna help."

Melanite blinked. "...Help? Why do you want to help me...?"

"A friend is worried," Mocha replied, "and knowing that she was too distraught to see into your future other than how that little meeting would go, I did it myself..." She looked forward, smiling. "...Go to the diamond ball."

The diamond ball...? Melanite hadn't been to one of those yet...She was too new. "Why the diamond ball...? What's going to-"

"Shh!" Mocha hushed, then giggled. "I can't tell you. Just stay close to Taupe Diamond's court."

Melanite went to speak, but Mocha Sapphire hopped off of the counter, making her way to the door. Mocha gave a little wave, then exited completely. Melanite sighed. Taupe gems...They're always the weirdest ones. So the fact that Mocha says she should be near the whole bunch of them...This should be great.

Melanite sighed, leaning back in her chair, thinking it over...Every court had a certain personality to them. Rainbow Diamond's court are natural leaders, and the best to go to if you're seeking advice. Black Diamond's court-- well, we've been over that...Sunset Diamond's gems are punk, rebellious even when there's hardly anything to rebel against, full of energy and style...Olive Diamond's gems were soft-spoken, peaceful, they tended to their gardens and were full of calm beauty...Plum Diamond's gems were comforting, full of emotion and willing to help you figure out yours...Pink Champagne Diamond's gems just wanted to either help, or be your best friend. Cyan Diamond's gems were very analytical and logical, sometimes emotions went a little over their head, but they meant well...Sky Diamond's gems were either intimidating or terrified of everything, whatever that was about...then there were Taupe Diamond's gems. A product of their diamond not liking literally any of them. They either crave attention, or they remain in the shadows like their diamond does. Some don't speak, while others can't seem to figure out how to shut up. It's like the entire court is coping in different ways with their diamond's insecurities, and all of Homeworld knew it...it's just that nobody said anything. Melanite looked out the window. How was she, of Black Diamond's court, supposed to mingle with someone like that? What sort of gem was Mocha Sapphire even referring to? A quartz? A pearl? An agate? Maybe an agate...Botswana Agate seemed nice. But Melanite wasn't LOOKING for an agate! Melanite was looking for a moonstone.

But brown moonstones don't exist...do they?
