"Why do you like looking at the rain so much?" Carter asked with her head tilted to the side, sitting on my bed looking at me, waiting for my reply.
I traced the rain droplets as they slid down the window's cold glass. I looked strait ahead, out of the corner of my eye I saw Carter which was exactly what I didn't want. I directed my attention to my fingers that stopped moving on the glass, my hand dropped into my lap and I looked down at it. My throat was dry and my voice came out raspy as I replied
"It's the only thing I have left"
