Chapter 4

The next morning, I woke up with messy hair. I checked my time just like yesterday and it said 8:00 in the morning. I wasn't excited. I wasn't my normal self. I was concerned and distraught. I planned to go back on to LoveHacked after eating my breakfast but instead of the page loading, the page said, "Congrats! You've just gotten LoveHacked by MarcusTheRipper29! If you wish to continue to play it, please don't get too excited. It might take about a year for you to get back in. We are sorry but yeah, not much we can do about it. Come back next year!".

I became quiet and speechless. I didn't say anything. I immediately slammed my broken computer shut and put it in my backpack, frustration coming back to me. I rushed out into the daylight without saying goodbye to my mother and slammed the door behind me.

I ran to school, crying as I took each step. I was so distracted from my tears that I didn't even notice where I was going when I finally realised that I was lost in the woods. Oh no! What am I gonna do? What am I gonna do? I checked my phone for the map. Darn it! No internet?!! Ugh! The next thought (and probably the last) is to call Della on my phone. It ringed and I answered.

"Hello? Della speaking! Oh, hi Zoe! Where are you? This isn't school, you idiot!"

I answered back to her:

"Yea, yea, I know. But can you give me a favour?"

She replied back to me:

"Anything for my best friend!"

Awww. I realised that the happiness was spreading back to me and I was so shocked that I forgot that I had been cheated by Marcus and I almost cried!

"Ok, so I'm lost - and I mean I AM LOST!!! IN THE WOODS!!! I'm pretty sure I'm long away from downtown! Can you help me?"

Della replied back to me for what seemed like about ten minutes:

"Which woods are you in? Describe to me or else, I can't help you!"

Okay, calm down Della! I replied back to her when I was ready:

"I'm pretty sure I'm somewhere that takes about a minute to get there from school. I'm in a wood where trees are orange and leaves are red."

After like about another five minutes passed, Della finally replied to me:

"Oh, yeah! That one! Wait! Do you mean the woods that had orange trees and red leaves? If yes, I'm pretty sure it's called Sunrise Acres. I will pick you up if you say yes! Anyways, thanks for notifying me, BFF!"

I'm ready to reply to her that question, LOL:

"Yes! Obviously!"

So then, after for like about ten minutes, I was about to give up and look for an exit myself when suddenly, I heard Della's voice calling to me! "Zoe!" she squealed as she hugged me tightly. She squeezed me so tightly that I nearly couldn't breathe!

Tears of joy fell down our two happy faces as we reunited and hugged each other. I was so happy that I didn't even notice how late it's getting! "OH NO! We've better get back to school! Don't wanna be late, do you?" Della cried and without thinking twice, she started running like a thunderbolt back to school.

I was confused when finally, I looked at my watch and indeed Della was right! 8:50. And without any questions, I rushed as fast as I could to join her. Back at school, I was about to head to my Humanities class when I suddenly saw Marcus sitting on a bench.

It's nearly class time, Marcus and you're literally the only one who is sitting! Wow. Such a great idea - when CLASS TIME IS ABOUT TO BEGIN?!! I was about to completely ignore him and go straight to class when he suddenly called my name.

"Zoe! Pst! Come here!" I tried to ignore his every single word but every time I try to, I just couldn't stop thinking about him. My brain was entirely controlled by him, making me want to talk to him even more! Why, Marcus? WHY?!! But not like this. Not when he just cheated on me yesterday! I was super scared and was about to rush to humanities because I just realised I was late when all of a sudden, something shocked me! I felt an arm grabbing hold of me!

I tried to let go with all of my strength but I was way too weak. Marcus finally grabbed my arm and I turned around to jump. He was standing still at me with super CUTE eyes. Eyes that I couldn't run away with. Eyes that made me want to just stare at him forever and run away with him to the skies. I felt like I was hypnotised by some strange and random person. But I wasn't. I just stared at him with concerned eyes.

"Let - me - go." I replied to him with cold eyes as I realised that he was still grabbing my arm. "Never, unless you still love me," he replied with a smirk. I thought that something was wrong with him. "Let me go!" I shouted even louder. Again, he rejected. He just stood there, looking at me with a dark face. I shouted at him even louder to get his attention.

"LET ME GO!" I - HAD - ENOUGH. "UGH! REALLY? YOU REALLY WANT ME TO REPEAT THIS TO YOU LIKE ABOUT A MILLION TIMES ALREADY?!! THEN FINE! I WILL! BUT IT WILL BE THE LAST TIME I SAY THIS TO YOU SO DON"T ASK ME OR TALK TO ME EVER AGAIN AFTER I SAY THIS!!! IS THAT UNDERSTOOD, MARCUS? Or should I even call you that?" I was starting to sound like a really harsh teacher in the middle of a big fight. I continued in a high pitched voice.

"All right. I'll say it once again and don't blame me if you bring it up again! Yes? Yes! Now, LET - ME - GO!!!" This time, I screamed so loudly that I nearly got a tantrum. But instead of letting go of my arm, he pushed me against the wall and immediately kissed me! O - M - G!!!

He tried to continue kissing me but eventually, I escaped from him and rushed straight away to humanities class while first being five minutes late and second, thinking about the kiss of my ex with tears pouring down my face. After having a really boring two classes, I rushed into the bathroom, looked in the mirror and began to cry sarcastically until - WHOSH!

I heard a toilet flush and out came a familiar face. "SUKAH!!!" I cried as I rushed to hug her. "Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah. Calm down, Zoe! Don't get too excited! I haven't even washed my hands yet!" Sukah exclaimed as I let my hands go off hers. I quickly washed my hands and shook the water off my fingers.

Anyways, we talked and talked in the bathroom all recess. I've even missed eating my snack. So after recess, I've said goodbye to Sukah and rushed to maths class. Yay. Cause we have a test today. Anyways, let's skip school!

And I don't mean actually skipping high school! What I was meant to say is that I want to skip the part where I talk about school. OH GOD. Anyways, moving on! So, after English class, as I was about to head over to my locker, somebody bumped into me!

"Ooosh! Watch it!" I screamed at the boy and as I was about to leave, I recognised his cute face straight away. "B - Benjamin?!!" I asked him, unsure if it was his name. "Hi." He smiled at me straight away with glittering eyes. WHAT - THE - HELL - IS - GO - ING - ON?!!
