A/N: This is based on a nightmare I had this morning that woke me up screaming and I couldn't fall back asleep after.
It was mid day, but it was foggy. It felt almost like a video game, I had an area around me that would grow and shrink to show me only enough to set my mind in motion.
We walked alone, I was stumbling along and he didn't even bat an eye. I couldn't stand, I couldn't walk, and he didn't care. We were on a forested path, with a roaring, rushing river on the right. I held on to the trees to keep myself from falling.
He stopped and turned to me and said we should cross here, gesturing to a mossy, rotted log that fell across the river.
I looked him in the eye and told him, "I can't walk on solid ground how do you expect me to get across that without falling in?" He laughed hard at this. As if it were a joke. As if I was a joke.
He kept walking, and I tried to follow. We walked for miles until we came across a bridge, a proper wooden bridge. He looked out across the river, like he saw something and got an idea. I couldn't see that far, the fog obscured everything halfway across the bridge. Before I could react, he grabbed my arm and pulled me across the bridge, it swayed and creaked.
I was terrified.
We got to the other side, but he didn't let go. My vision blurred more and more. I couldn't even see five feet in front of myself. He dragged me down the bank of the river until we came across an old boat. I knew not how long it had been there, but it would never support both of us. And apparently it didn't need to.
He tugged my arm. I had been trying to scream, kick, anything this whole time but nothing stopped him. He threw me in the boat. I couldn't even regain my balance by the time he had pushed the boat in.
I was flying down the river. I tried to find a way to make it back to land but I was moving to fast, I couldn't do anything. I pushed myself down into the boat, hoping something would come, hoping something would help me.
But nothing came.
I looked out before me and saw a gargantuan waterfall. I couldn't tell how far down it went, but I knew I'd never survive the fall. Before I knew it, I had flown over the edge. I was plummeting to an unknown fate. I tried to scream but my voice came out a whisper. I tried to call for help but no one heard.
I fell.
I screamed again.
I fell.
I could see large trees getting closer as I descended.
I fell.
And then I woke up.
