A warm fire was crackling in the corner of the living room inside a cozy cabin. The snow falling just beyond the numerous windows of said cabin made this little piece of heaven appeal even more to the being inside it. This being was sitting in his favourite armchair, wrapped in his favourite blanket with just enought of an opening in the front for his hands to hold his favourite china teacup. This kind of peaceful evening was a rarity in this household, making it all the more enjoyable when opportunities for relaxation arose. This peaceful being was named Q. Q was definitely having a great time sitting in front of his crackling fire. That is, until a knock on his door disturbed him. You see, dear reader, a knock on a cabin in the middle of the mossy woods is not very common. So the surprise that Q felt and slight panic were completely justifiable. Carefully setting down his porcelain teacup with a satisfying 'clink', Q unwrapped himself from the warm cocoon and made his way to the door. Very slowly, just to show the person on the other end that their visit was not appreciated. Mind you, there was after all, a reason for Q's sudden moving into a secluded cabin. Unlocking the numerous locks on the door with the quick action of an experienced hand and turning the knob, Q was immediately rendered speechless. He had a few words ready for the one who dared disturb him of course, but he had been expecting a stranger. Not his past, present and future all in the form of a person. Q stared into the eyes of his beloved, a man not many dared call by name.
This being was none other than V. A villain most said. However, Q was definitely not part of the majority as he loved this man more than life itself.
"Would you like to come in,"
Came Q's soft voice after a few minutes of just mutual husbandly staring. Getting over the shock initially was going to take a bit.
"Yes please,"
Came V's unusually soft voice. The voice that was saved for Q, and Q alone.
'Oh dear, it's freezing'
Thought Q, ushering the taller figure in 'Oh my darling, he must be cold,' mused Q.
As the two quietly made their way into the living room (with Q's guidance of course) V was busy paying more attention to Q than to remembering the way through the halls. When the crackling fire came into view V's body gave out almost immediately. Sinking into the nearest armchair, Q let out a little gasp of surprise in response to V's groan. Quickly rushing to his side he began checking his lover for anything that could count as a symptom of hypothermia. Finding instead, a large gash on V's lower abdomen. 'How have I not noticed that before' V thought 'I definitely would have noticed a cut that large.... unless,'
"Why did you hide this from me, love?" The quiet voice showing confusion, masking the hurt he felt.
"I didn't want you to worry..." Came the latter's awkward reply. V really was stupid when it came to love. Of course Q would worry, and him finding out is nothing to wonder about really. He was very experienced in healing, living away from civilization and all.
Filling a small tub with water, and grabbing some bandages, towels, a needle and thread and whatever else was needed for the delicate procedure, he got right right work. Cleaning the cut and tenderly holding V's hand when he winced at the needle sewing the flesh shut. After making sure to stop most of the bleeding, he started tightly applying the bandages. "Love, can you stand," the sweet concern laced in Q's soft voice was apparent, definitely so. V could feel that his heart hurt more than the soon to be scar on his middle. "I'll try love, I'm quite sure I might land flat on my face if I didn't have your help," V said using their mutual nickname for each other. Although that would have potentially helped his lovers mood, this was not a great situation for humor. "Gosh, why are you always so reckless," Q cried out close to tears "You'll get yourself killed one day if you wait too long. I can't always be their to fix you," Q's outburst was very unexpected. The usually soft and nervous individual never raised his voice like this.
"I know dear," V said pulling Q into a sort of embrace, gently, as to not hurt either of them "I know."
