Alaina's P.O.V
"C'mon Lain, it'll be so much fun!" Hilary said pulling my arm into the studio.
"Hil, I don't want to. I hate pictures!" I moaned letting her drag me into the small building.
"But you're sooo, gorgeous! Pictures should be your favorite thing!" Hilary said as we walked over to sign in.
Hilary had sent in pictures of both of us to a modeling agency, and we both got a call back.
I hadn't wanted to do it, but I was having an off day when she sent them. I just agreed and decided not to argue.
"Well one, I'm not gorgeous, two pictures are not my favorite thing, three you don't need me to do this so I'll just leave." I turned to leave and she grabbed the back of my coat.
"Alaina Quinn O'riley. You're not going anywhere. Tonight you're going to forget you hate pictures and actually have some fun. Sitting at home drooling over One Direction is no way to live your life!" She said and turned to the lady who was waiting patiently to check us in.
"Hilary Sweeney and Alaina O'riley." Hilary smiled.
"Go right through those doors girls." Corinna which was the lady's name said pointing at huge double doors across the hall.
"Thank you ma'am." Hilary smiled. "Let's go Ally!"
Hilary squealed with excitement, she pushed open the two doors leading to a huge room. Her smile was bright and excited.
"Wow." I said taking in the clothes that had been set in front of us.
"Names?" A man with glasses and a clipboard came over and clicked his pen.
"Hilary and Alaina." Hilary answered and he jotted it down.
"Follow me?" He turned and stalked away.
"Must be gay." Hilary whispered noting his demeanor.
I rolled my eyes at her and we followed the man to two vanities.
"Your make up artists and hair stylists will be here in five minutes." He said and gave us both skeptical looks and then walked away.
"Well he means business." Hilary giggled.
I smiled at her, she was always happy. Something that helped me stay happy. Ever since my accident I couldn't remember anything and that killed me. I mean yeah I remembered my name, my parents and family. Nothing else though, it was like my last memory was of my twelfth birthday. All of my family crowded around me as I blew out the candles and the next thing I remember is walking up in a hospital bed.
No one ever pushed me to remember either. They just let it all be. I didn't understand why, but I didn't ask either.
"Hello? Earth to Alaina?" Hilary said waving a hand in front of my face.
"Sorry, I was spacing." I shrugged.
"I could see that, hopefully not about who I think it was about..." She muttered just loud enough for me to hear.
"Oh, they're beautiful." I heard someone say walking in the door.
"I'll have fun with the blonde's hair hair!" I looked to see two women coming over. The blonde one was Hilary.
"Hi girls, I'm Jenna and that's Mary. We're your hair stylists!" A perky blonde smiled.
"Hi, I'm Hilary and this is Alaina." Hilary said and Mary smiled.
"Hi Hilary, I'm going to be doing your hair. If you'd follow me we'll get started." Mary said and Hilary nodded waving to me excitedly as they walked out of the room.
"So Alaina?" Jenna asked looking at me with a kind smile.
"Last I checked." I joked.
She laughed. "Well lets go, you have lovely hair by the way. I have big plans for it!" She said and lead me into a small room.
"If I trimmed your hair would you mind?" She asked as I sat down in the chair.
"Not at all, just not too short. I love my hair long." I said and she nodded.
"Well I have to cut off what I can't use and I promise if its too much, we'll give you extensions!" She smiled and I nodded nervously.
She rolled me over to a sink and shampooed my hair, then put a deep conditioner in it.
"I'll let that sit for five minutes and then we'll rinse and cut." She smiled and I started to get nervous.
What if she ruined my hair, I'd worked so long to grow it out after them shaving it off for surgery. It'd taken me two years just to get it below my shoulders. Now she wanted to just do away with it?
"So tell me about yourself Alaina." Jenna said leaning against a small counter.
"Well, I'm eighteen, I was born in August. Hilary is my best friend and she forced me into this. I got in a car accident two years ago, and I lost all my memory after turning twelve. So I don't really remember the last six years of my life." I explained.
"That's awful!" She said and I shrugged.
"At least I'm alive!" I said and she nodded.
"That's true, well your hair's ready for the rinsing." She said and came over.
Today I was gonna try something new, maybe I'd like it. Or maybe it'd be the biggest mistake of my life.
Either way, I was going to make the best of it!
