Harry's P.O.V

"Liam, we're leaving. Meet us out in the car when you're ready." I shouted up the stairs.

"Be out in five!" He called back.

I shut the door and headed outside and got in the car.

Niall was already seated in the passenger seat.

"Is Liam coming?" He asked rubbing his hands together.

"Yeah he said he'll be out in five minutes." I said shaking from the temperature.

"Don't we still have to pick up Hallie?" Niall asked turning the heat on full blast.

"Unfortunately." I muttered.

"Why did you invite her to come?" He asked sounding confused.

I honestly only did it so she wouldn't be hurt. Hallie was a nice girl, but that's all she was. I had no feelings for her, other than the friendly kind. Sure she was absolutely beautiful, but there was only one girl that held the key to my heart. Alaina, and it'd be that way until the day I die.

"Harry?" Niall asked waving a hand in front of my face.

"Oh, well it was the polite thing to do." I shrugged.

"I guess, but it will be awkward for both of you now." He said and I knew he was right.

I looked up and I saw Liam coming out carrying two bags. He slipped on some ice that was on the ground and started laughing, Niall and I started laughing too.

He got up and came over to the window. Knocking on it and gesturing for me to roll it down.

"Pop the trunk?" He asked.

I nodded and opened the trunk for him to throw his stuff in.

"Thanks." Liam said hopping in the back seat and closing the door swiftly.

"And we're off." I said pulling out of the driveway and onto the road.

"Are we picking up Hallie?" Liam asked.

"Yes." I said and the rest of the ride to her house was silent.

I got out and went to get her, seeings how I was the one who'd invited her.

I knocked on the door and she answered it a few seconds later.

"Oh Harry, nice to see you." She smiled opening the door for me to come in.

"Hi, are you ready to go?" I asked and she nodded.

"Yep, just gotta grab my bags and my coat." She said smiling and heading into what I assumed was her room.

She came out carrying three large bags. And plopped them down with a large huff.

"Want me to get those for you?" I offered trying to be a gentleman.

"Oh, would you?" She asked pulling her coat on and putting a hat and scarf on.

"Sure." I nodded and went to pick up her bags.

"Thanks Harry." She smiled and went down the stairs before me.

"Its not a problem." I said and shut the door dragging her heavy bags behind me.

"Could you ask Niall to pop the trunk?" I asked and she nodded cheerfully.

Niall got out of the front seat and opened the trunk, then being the gentleman he is, sacrificed his seat for Hallie.

"Hi Hallie." Liam said as she sat down.

"Hi Liam." She chirped.

I put her stuff in the trunk and then hopped back into the car.

"Are we ready?" I asked shutting my door.

"I think so!" Hallie said obviously excited.

"Alright, next stop Holmes Chapel." I said and turned onto the road.

About an hour and a half into the trip Niall complained he was hungry.

"Alright, we'll stop off at the nearest McDonalds." I said and pulled off the interstate.

We ate McDonalds, and filled up on gas. Then we were off once again.

"So Hallie, what day is your photo shoot?" Liam asked starting up a conversation.

"It'll be the twenty-seventh." She said and she hadn't lost any of her cheery tone.

"So soon after the holiday?" He asked.

"Well it's meant to be a New Years shoot, I'm doing it for Coach." She said excitedly.

"What a great opportunity." Liam said smiling approvingly.

"Thanks, I jumped at the chance. Coach is such a big line!" Hallie said and smiled back at Liam.

Maybe Liam would be able to keep her entertained. I sure didn't know how I was going to be able to for the next two weeks.

I pulled onto a familiar road, and went down it slowly. Reliving many memories, some with Alaina in them, some without.

One of them was of me and her walking in the rain, because we couldn't go swimming and it was so hot. We'd talked about so many things that day. Now it was all just a memory.

My best friend was just a picture in my mind. I couldn't erase the picture, and that was what was the hardest.

Her memory was here to stay with me forever. Even if she were to be...dead, even if she didn't care anymore, I'd still love her.

I pulled into my drive way and couldn't wait to see Gemma and my Mom.

"Harry!" Mum shouted as she came running over to me.

"Hi Mum!" I said as she ran to hug me.

We hugged for a few seconds then she gave me a kiss on the cheek and turned to Liam and Niall.

"Hi boys, there are cookies on the table in the kitchen and some egg nog in the fridge. Help yourselves!" She said to them and they hurried inside.

"Hi Mrs.Cox." Hallie said coming around the car.

"Anne please, you must be Hallie, it's great to meet you." Mum said smiling and hugging Hallie.

Hallie seemed taken aback, but hugged Mum anyway.

"Let's get inside, it's so cold!" She said and they walked in together.

Just great! Mom was gonna be on my case about Hallie now. What did I get myself into...?
