Chapter 6 - His Past

Warning: Mentions of Kidnapping, rape and panic attacks

Kit's POV

Listening to Pha telling Yo and I about Ming's condition makes me want to cry how could today which was supposed to be perfect turn into this situation.
"Ming, why didn't you tell me anything?"
"Do you not trust me or do you think I would make it worse?" I question to myself as tears begin streaming down my face again
"I want to know the truth about Ming's past" I tell Yo hoping he could tell me some information about it
Yo looks up at me, you can see he feels conflicted as too whether or not to tell me.
"Please Yo" I beg him
"Fine P'Kit although I don't actually know that much about it"
Flashback (Yo POV)
"All I know is when Ming was 10 he was kidnapped for ransom and was missing for over 5 months even after the money was paid"
"Then suddenly 5 months later, he was found unconscious on the side of the road with a massive knife going directly though his heart"
"It was a miracle he was still alive when the ambulance arrived as his heart wasn't beating and he sustained huge head trauma"
"After arriving at the hospital he was dead and the doctors did everything they could to resuscitate him by giving him and emergency surgery with a newly acquired heart"
"The surgery lasted 10 hours and we were informed a few times that he wouldn't make it through"
"The chance of success was 0.5% so everyone had little hope as we sat in the waiting room for the news"
"Once the surgery was over and Ming miraculously survived, he was in a coma to which the doctors said it wouldn't be surprising if never woke up from."
"I overheard some doctors talking about Ming's condition and how he was believed to have been raped, tortured and left as dead even before impaled"
"Apparently it was a gang raping as they found 3 different men's sperm present on his body"
"It took 6 months but Ming finally woke up but he was broken"
"He wouldn't talk, wouldn't eat, wouldn't let anyone touch him. He just stayed silent"
"We still don't know who kidnapped him nor what they did to him in any detail as Ming refused and still refuses to talk about it"
"It took 4 years with a psychiatrist for Ming to finally open up to anyone other than his family and me and start talking to others at school"
"When he first met you Kit, he started to talk more and return to how he was before so thank you"
"But you both don't know that Ming still has panic attacks if he sees something related to the kidnapping such as metal chains"
Flashback ended

Kit's POV
I couldn't accept what Yo has just told me about Ming
How do I not know that something that important happened in Ming's life
I'm such a bad boyfriend to not know anything
My world has stopped while I'm trying to accept what I just heard
