it's so incredibly hot.
i'm not one to complain about warm weather, especially at this time of year, but it's beyond warm in here. i feel like i'm being roasted alive.
we begin driving, and i observe the rest of the bus. nearly every seat is filled, save for mine. that's okay. i don't know anyone on my bus, and i'd rather not sit next to some stuffy rich boy. i'm entirely content watching youtube on my phone for the duration of the drive.
today's a bit different, though. it's the first day of 10th grade. my schedule has changed drastically from last year. i always prefer to wait and read my schedule at the latest possible moment, partially because i'm a huge procrastinator, partially because i like the suspense. i pull it out of my backpack, making a feeble effort to flatten it out before scanning my eyes down the paper.
my classes are mostly unchanged, besides for fourth, sixth, and seventh hour. sixth hour is gym, seventh is math, and fourth is english. there's a new english teacher this year, actually, and as far as i know, he'll be teaching me. his name is mr. garrett, and i know absolutely nothing about him. i just hope he isn't old. typically, the older the teacher, the ruder they are, and there's few exceptions.
i fold up the sheet and put it back in my bag, resting my head on the window. for the rest of the drive, i listen to my spotify playlist, thinking of nothing but the day ahead of me.
