"I'm just taking a quick shower Bee." Luke walked into the bathroom.
Blake and Luke have been friends for longer than they both can remember. Neither of them have a memory where they didn't know each other. They also know everything about each other. All the good things, not so good things, and secrets.
Except there was one thing Blake hasn't told Luke, something she will never tell Luke. That is that whenever she is around him, butterflies are spazzing out inside her. Whenever she thinks about him butterflies are soaring inside of her. Even when she hears his name in casual conversation she feels giddy.
In other words, Blake was hopelessly in love with her best friend and it made her feel like shit. Because she feels like he could possibly love her back which, surprisingly, scares her even more.
Blake is not the kind of person to take leaps of faith unless she knows the outcome. Confessing her feelings to Luke could go in so many different routes that she can't trust her gut. So, in conclusion, Luke will never know how Blake feels.
Sometimes she fantasizes scenarios where he comes clean and tells her how much he loves her and wants to be with her, which was enough for Blake for a little while. But lately, Blake's fantasies have been having the opposite affect, making her feel empty, because they are just fantasies.
Luke hasn't had any girlfriends or flings recently which makes Blake's situation a little bit easier for her. She remembers this one girlfriend of his: April. She was actually incredibly sweet which only made it harder for Blake to hate her. April never questioned her and Luke's friendship because of the amount of trust she had in Luke. He really liked April. She knew that because he always fucking talked about it. Blake tried to support him but eventually she told him that they needed space from each other. When he asked why Blake came up with this bullshit reason that he wasn't investing all his attention into April and she deserved better.
That night, Luke came over to Blake's through her window and told her that he broke up with April because his friendship with Blake means more than some high school crush that won't go anywhere. Maybe that's when Blake thought that Luke was in love with her. Because it was a shit excuse since Luke always talked about how much he actually liked April.
"Bee!" Luke called out from the shower.
"What!"
"...."
Blake rolled her eyes and sighed. "What, Luke?"
No answer.
Blake grunted. "Why are you so annoying Luke! You call me and when I answer you say nothing. Now I have to get up and see what you fucking need." she rambled annoyingly as she made her way to the bathroom door.
"Bee."
She seethed. "What..."
She waited outside of the bathroom door for his response when she heard the lock on the door tick.
She opened the bathroom door to see Luke standing there, covering his junk with his hands.
Blake quickly and awkwardly turned her back to him and covered her eyes. "Luke what the fuck!"
Luke laughed hard. "I can't find the towels."
"Shouldn't they be next to the shower?" She screamed.
"Wow I never thought of looking there Bee, great fucking thinking." she just knew that he was rolling his eyes at her.
"Well then air dry or something I don't know. I especially don't know why I have to be in here."
"You love it."
She'd love it more if she could actually look.
"Why am I in here?"
"I don't know I never invited you in Bee"
Her jaw dropped down to the floor in disbelief. "You unlocked the door!"
"In what world is that an invite?"
"Wha-"
"And even if I did invite you, why would you come in anyway?"
Now she was losing her patience. "have fun air drying asshole." She walked right out of the bathroom.

Luke laughed to himself. The other day, he was at Blake's house while she was out getting Del Taco for the both of them when he found her journal.
Because he thought he knew all her secrets and everything that ran through her head, he didn't see the immorality in reading it. What he was surprised to find was that it was practically empty except for six words that made Luke feel sick.
Fuck, I think I love Luke.
