curiously peering over castle walls with a child's eyes,

when my gaze landed on yours,
in an instant, a child I was and a child no more,
you taught me how to set fire to a room,
with clothes as tinder,
and the grazing of skin against skin the kindling spark,
you have always been my Queen.
I was a princess who jumped in a pit of fire and ashes,
and arose to be a precious creation,
forged by your very hands,
Queen with the golden daggers strapped on my belt,
warrior with the crown dangling over my head.
