It's been three years and you've grown so much
And you still have a long way to go
You have so much to live and learn
But it's moments like these when I wish you could just stay this way
You allow me to be near you
and invite me into your world
Where everything is warm and sweet,
Everything is colorful,
and we can play all day
I wish we could stay here
I wish you could stay this way
I've grown very quickly and I've learned
that when you grow up, you'll be like me
But the way I'm headed isn't very pretty
I finally understand who The Catcher wanted to be
and what he wanted to do
but I know that can't be
and things will always change
Even so, I will always have my hope,
the hope that you will grow and live and learn
And be a good person
A caring, giving person
Who is loved and loves
I hope you'll be okay
