It's 2 in morning, the rain is still coming down as hard as it was earlier, if not, worse. The thundering got louder, and the lightening got brighter.
The door opens, and I see drunk Matthew tumbling through the hall. His shaggy brown hair & clothes are soaked, leaving me speechless.
He slams the door behind him and goes upstairs, as I sit still on the couch in the living room. I hear the bathroom door from our bedroom slam shut while the thundering got louder than before.
I walk up to the bedroom, stilly, I sit down onto the bed and wait for him to come out.
I've always been a patient person, I never liked to fight nor to yell. I simply waited for an answer, even if the answer took a while.
The shower was running for a good 10 minutes. Almost naked Matthew comes back out. He turns the light off from behind him, and he kept his head down. He's bothered & in distress.
He sits quietly next to me, and put his elbows onto his knees. He buries his face into his hands, as I heard muffed soft sobs coming from him.
The thundering finally calmed down, but the rain was still falling from the sky. I place my hand onto his shoulder, and I watch him sob.
"Heaven," He sighs, folding his hands together. "I miss you so much, everyday it's so hard. I wish you were here with me so I can hold you one last time."
The room is full of silence, but the rain slightly disturbs. He shakes his head and gets back up.
I get up as well and walk into the hallway, reviewing our memories that hung up on the walls. A single tear falls down from my cold pale cheek.
He needs to know I'm still here, and I'll show him.
