Matthew ~
I'm awoken by the bright light coming from my window, I squint as I hear the birds sing songs coming from the outside. I lay on my empty bed, thinking about my last memory with Heaven on a day like this.
She lied there sound asleep with my arms around her. She had just came back from the hospital the night before because they said she was okay enough to come back home to me. The sunshine peaked through the curtains. I kissed her cheek, and her neck.
She smiled softly, and opened her bright blue eyes. She turned to me and looked into mine. "Good morning, Love." She whispered, "good morning, Beautiful." I whispered back, as I kissed her nose.
That morning was one of my last mornings with Heaven. I look over to her spot, and I feel the tears fall down my cheeks, I'm crying but I don't even notice.
Today should be better. I can feel it. The sun is finally back out. I get up to make a cup of coffee, and I walk into Heaven's writing office, it's exactly how she left it. Nothing is touched, nothing is moved.
I see an envelope with my name lying across it and the floor.
"To Matthew."
I pick it up, walk back into my bedroom, and sit down onto my bed. Sitting my coffee down, I open it.
