Wonderwoman's P.O.V
I felt beyond stressed.
Themyscira's people were currently in battle with Ares, God Of War, and the situation there was just so intense.
I felt so helpless because I couldn't fight with them. Instead, I had to stay in the Watchtower as there was a rapidly increasing crime rate in just too many parts of the world.
Although my mother had repeatedly assured me that she could handle the situation at Themyscira, I couldn't help feeling guilty and useless.
I was lost in my thoughts as I walked into the cafeteria.
Swoosh.
"Barry!"
"Yes, Diana?"
"Could you actually use your eyes for once and tone down the super speeding?" I grumbled.
"Hmpf, rude as always!"
I rolled my eyes and muttered, "you deserved it," then let out an exasperated sigh and joined the line of leaguers queueing for their food.
When it was my turn, I took two sandwiches and some apples.
Afterwards, I sat down on an empty table and started munching on my apples while observing the other leaguers.
Very unfortunately, Barry came to sit at my table with his tray piled high.
"I got some burgers, chocolate bars, pop tarts, pizza slices-" I put my hand up to stop his rambling.
"Are you sure you can finish all that?" I asked him as I motioned towards his tray.
"Yeah, but it's not enough for me!" Barry whined with a pout on his face.
"I could tell the other leaguers were getting annoyed at me for taking all the food but I'm pretty sure it's just 'cause they're jealous of my metabolism, I mean," Barry motioned to his body with a smug smile on his face, "look at this sexy bodAY."
I burst out laughing and my spirits lifted just a little.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night!"
Barry and I looked up to see Dinah walking over to our table and settling down beside Barry.
"Dinah! It's good to see your face again, all I've been seeing of you recently is the back of your head! Apparently you and Ollie have been sucking each other's faces off more than usual lately," Barry sighed, poking Dinah's cheek as he clicked his tongue.
"Shut it, Barry!" Dinah swatted his hand away, her cheeks slightly pink.
"But it's trueee!" Barry whined.
Dinah rolled her eyes and smacked his head, earning an "OW! Woman, calm down! I was just kiddin'!" from Barry.
I chuckled a little at the spectacle in front of me.
Suddenly, I noticed the noisy cafeteria turn silent and everyone's gaze at the door.
The three of us looked up to see Clark entering the cafeteria with a stern look on his face.
"Looks like you're not the only one feeling cranky today, Diana," Barry whispered.
I ignored him and shot a tight smile at Clark as it seemed like he was heading towards our table.
Clark then proceeded to sit beside me.
"Superman! Yo, how's it going?" Barry extended his fist, waiting for Clark to bump it with his own.Oh Barry, why do you have to be such an idiot right now of all times?
Clark stared at Barry's extended fist and frowned at him.
Barry's smile dropped and he withdrew his fist.
I shoved a spoon of Barry's chocolate brownie ice cream into my mouth and I swear I almost swooned.
"Why do you look so happy all of a sudden?" Barry asked me curiously.
"Give me more of your chocolate brownie ice cream and I'll be even happier."
"Get your own!"
"Selfish jerk," I mumbled jokingly and took a sip of my milk carton.
"Excuse-"
Barry's words got cut off as Clark spoke, "Barry, Diana, I didn't come to see you two bicker, I need both of you to see me later with the other members, we need to discuss something very important."
Barry and I nodded.
Clark then got up from his seat and left the cafeteria.
"Wow, Superman really needs to loosen up or he's going to turn into Batman," Barry commented.
"Being serious is a good thing, plus it's a trait you'll never have," I smirked.
After hearing what I said, he seemed to consider it for a moment before he smiled brightly at me.
"You've to admit it though, I'm the one who brightens up the mood in the League," he said.
"That, will need more observation," I replied.
I took another sip of my milk and watched as Dinah checked her watch.
"Guys, I gotta go, I'm late for my training session, but I'll see you two later!"
Dinah got up and started towards the doors.
"You mean you're late for your date with Oliver?" Barry shouted.
"OH shut up!"
Half an hour later, Barry and I finished eating our food and we made our way to the Watchtower HQ.
I opened the door and dashed into the room, slapping Barry's face with my hair.
He yelped and glared at me.
I ignored him and looked around the table.
The founding members of the League were all present and for some reason, that made me a little nervous.
I cleared my throat and went to find an empty seat.
"Since all of us have arrived, let's begin," Clark announced.
"Okay, there have been reports of ordinary people from all over Earth who have recently discovered they possess powers. I've invited them to the Watchtower and I plan on giving them a physical and mental test to see if they're skilled enough to join the League," Clark explained.
"And how does that concern us?" Shayera asked.
"I want each of you here to train them for two weeks, before they undergo the test," Clark declared.
Everyone nodded.
Hm, this was going to be a very interesting two weeks.
