Chapter 2 - The Color Of Fate

Itsuki POV

I walked around the campus with a smile on my face.

"you seem awfully joyful today, partner. I believe this is one of the times I should ask if your mental state is ok."

It's nothing Apophis, you shouldn't worry so much. I mentally replied.

"ha! Me? Worry? I should have you know that someone as grand as me will never care for insignificant life, be it a human's, devil's, angel's, or fallen's."

"yeah, thought so."

I walked through the corridors of the school until a sudden thought came into mind.

hey, Apophis. Why did you choose me to become your wielder? I mean if what you say is true, then you're a dragon god who could wipe out the entire universe, but what made you choose me? I mentally asked.

Apophis seemed taken back at my answer and took a few seconds until he finally replied.

"Sacred Gears are unconsciously chosen by the beings inside them but they can narrow down the amount of choices by having a specific standard."

What do you mean?

"I believe that an example is better than an explanation. Let's use Ddraig as an example. He is one of the two Heavenly Dragons. God slaying sacred gears, that could do the same as me, but to a significantly lesser degree."

Your ego has no bounds.

"shut it or I'll personally beat your ass in the dream scape. Anyway, I have met almost all of his wielders before. Humans, both good and evil were chosen but they had one thing in common. The strength of their Will."

Their will?

"correct, all of Ddraig's wielders have always been driven by their will and that is what Ddraig unconsciously wants in his wielders."

So, if Ddraig wants someone who has a strong will, then what do you want?

"... To tell you the truth... I don't know who I want. My power is able to beat the "Infinite" and the "Dream"  but I was the only one to be sealed. All of my wielders have died the second they awoken me, only you have been able to withstand my immense power. You are just like normal humans but there is something about you that I cannot explain. An unknown power that could allow you to use me. "

An unknown power, huh?

While walking, I unconsciously lead myself torwards the library. Seeing no reason to go to class, I decided to go inside and take a peek at what type of books were allowed to read.

I walked around the surprisingly large library, filled with books of all kinds, there were books about fantasy, love, and even comedy. This was one of the things I forgot about Japan, their libraries weren't limited to text books, but to various kinds.

I strolled around each aisle until I saw someone that caught my eye.

It was a girl, no older than me. She had a beautiful hourglass figure that complimented each, and every single part of her body, light-blue eyes that made me entranced, lightly tanned skin that had no signs of damage, and probably the most noticeable feature of all - long hair that reached her lower thigh, it was colored a deep shade of red.

Something about her made me feel entranced, to the point that I felt her gaze but I didn't notice it.

She was looking at me while I was still trapped in a gaze, until I let my thoughts slip out of my mouth.
