I sighed loudly and rested my cheek against my palm, my eyes drooping. The sun was hot and my wounds were still healing from a job I got back from recently. I was through my second book of the day and surprisingly, was bored. I shut the book and examined the cover. Ancient Wizard Guilds. Some title. I traced my finger on the gold lining that went around the book.
"Oi! Levy!" I turned so see Panther-lily standing behind me,his arms crossed. I raised an eyebrow. "Hmmm?" I stood up from the bench and walked over to panther lily, who sprouted his wings and floated at eye level with me.
"Well-." He began but then a loud roar interrupted him. I jumped slightly, a small gasp escaped from my lips. I looked over my shoulder and saw Gajeel running full speed towards us.
"Liiiiiiiiily!" He roared. Panther-Lily smirked and flew up higher. Gajeel's fists were clenched and his eyebrows were buried deep in his face. I put a hand to my mouth and giggled. Gajeel paused and him body slowly turned towards me. His face flushed a light pink.
"L-levy!" He exclaimed and his hands released their grip. He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. I tilted my head and smiled, waving my hand.
"Hi Gajeel! How you doing?" I asked and then sat back down on the bench. Gajeel blushed again and shrugged. Panther-Lily cleared his throat.
"Anyways, Levy I have something to give to you." He produced a white letter from behind his back. "LILY!" Gajeel yelled and lunged for the letter. I bit my lip and blushed. What's in that letter? Is it for me? What if it's from Gajeel? I place my hands on to my cheeks and giggled. Wait, Levy! Get a hold of yourself! You can't turn into Juvia. Suddenly I snapped back to reality and Gajeel was staring at me, his face blank.
"Oh!" I gasped and my face turned pink again. I looked down at my feet and bit my lip. Panther-Lily chuckled and he flew over Gajeel's head, landing next to me on the table. He flicked his paw out, and handed me the paper. It was crumpled up, but it looked like someone had tried to smooth it out.
"Uh..ok." I reached for the paper, and as my fingers brushed the corners, Gajeel lunged at us. "No!" His arms flailed and he crashed down on top of me. I screeched and threw my arms over my face. His chest landed on my waist, knocking the breath out of my lungs. I pounded my fists on his back.
"GAJEEEEEEEEL! GET OFF ME!" I yelled once air entered my system again.
"Uh-oh-wha...?" Gajeel stammered and blinked a few times.
"I said GET OFF OF ME!" I repeated my face growing hot. Gajeel's eyes widened and he fumbled and then fell backwards. I sat up and rubbed my stomach.
"Jeez, your heavy." I turned the other way as Gajeel scrambled to get up. "Now am I gonna get that piece of paper? Or what?" I mumbled and slouched over my book, but really looked at him out of the corner of my eyes.
"Ah...no." Gajeel replied, his cheeks a slight pink. Oh my, he was adorable. Even with those piercings and wild hair. I scowled at my book. Then why the fuck did they come here? Panther-Lily chuckled again.
"You sure Gajeel?" He said. Gajeel grunted and grabbed Panther-Lily by the paw and walked away. I buried my face in the book. What's his problem? I played with a strand of my hair and my mind wandered off. What was that paper? It obviously means something to Gajeel...but what?
----later in the day around 5:00 pm----
"Levy! Would you like anything to eat?" Mira-chan called out. I looked up from my book. "Uh...yeah! I'll have some soup please!" I smiled. Mira nodded and disappeared into the kitchen. I glanced down at the book. It was about a new language I was studying. I sighed and closed it, tucking it into my bag. The chatter of the guild wrapped around me and I took a sip of my water. Cana was chugging down barrels after barrels of beer and Gildarts was staring at her. Natsu and Gray were staring each other down, as usual, and Erza was walking over to them, as she sensed a fight about to break out. Juvia was ogling at Gray and Wendy was hanging out with Lisanna and Carla. Elfman and Evergreen were glancing at each other and then scowling as they caught each other. I giggled. Gajeel was no where to be seen. I sighed and took another sip. Suddenly someone was draped across my back. I heard a loud sigh and smiled. Lucy Heartfilia. I noticed her hair was dipping slightly. "Did Aquarius get you?" I asked. "Ugh no. I fell into the river. I'm pretty sure Happy pushed me in...that little devil cat." She groaned. I laughed. "Oh Happy. You never fail to make me laugh." I shook my head and scooted over, patting the space next to me. "Hey!" Lucy gasped and slid in. Mira came walked in with my soup. "Would you like one Lucy?" She asked. "Uh... I'll have a grilled cheese." Mira nodded and waltzed off. I sighed and stuck my spoon in the soup. "Awh shit. What happened now?" Lucy swung her arm around my shoulders. "Gajeel..." I whispered and Lucy got the hint."Well at least he ain't as oblivious as Natsu." Lucy looked over at Natsu and her eyes softened. I took a spoonful of soup and the hotness of it lightly scorched my throat. I swirled my spoon around and picked out the carrots and slowly chewed them. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a black cat and my heart sped up. It was Panther-Lily. But I didn't see Gajeel. I wanted to walk up and talk to him, but I resisted. I snapped back to Lucy, who was munching at her giant Sandwich. "No wonder you're so heavy Lucy!" Happy exclaimed from Natsu's side. "SHUT UP!" She screeched, glaring at Happy. He giggled and took a bite out of a fish. I took a large breath and held it in. I thought of the water park we to during the Magic Games. Natsu was screaming his head off and that heart thing swooped me and Gajeel up. Sometimes I could still feel his arms around me as he said "don't let go." I remember my heart pounding and the heat of my face as I looked up at him. But then his cheeks blew up and he barfed all over me. That ruined the moment. Even after that I couldn't be mad at him. My lips turned up into a small smile. "Levy, what's on your mind?" Lucy nudged me with her shoulder. "Uh..w-what? Oh nothing." I closed my eyes and stretched to the ceiling. A loud yawn escaped from my lips and my eyes shot open. "Are you tired?" Lucy asked, swallowing the last piece of her Sandwich. "Yeah...I read a couple books and I had that job with Jet and Droy." Lucy squeezed my hand. "I'll walk you to your room." She smiled and stood up. "Thanks Mira! See you in the morning!" She waved and the guild paused to say bye to Lucy. I slung my bag across my chest and I pushed the door open and immediately the warm summer breeze hit my skin. We walked around the building, to the back and went through the back door, walking up the stairs. I paused after a couple more walks and inserted the key. I turned back to Lucy. "Bye! See you tomorrow!" Lucy blew me a kiss and I closed the door."Finally...some peace and quiet." I sighed and threw my bag onto a chair. I ran into the bathroom and prepared a bubble bath for myself and grabbed a towel. I undressed and hung it off the foot of my bed. I walked back into the bathroom, my towel wrapped around me and I took off the head band, letting my usually pushed back bangs fall into my eyes. I dropped my towel near the sink and slipped into the bath. The bubbles foamed and reached my chin as I sank deeper into the water. I looked out the window that was above the tub and I saw the moon shining bright. It was a nice night and suddenly I wished I had stayed longer. Maybe Gajeel would be there. I shook my head. Doubt it.
