Step Brother [ Jaemin ]

Chaeyeon awoke just after i ended the call. She immediately ran towards and hugged me tightly the moment she saw me.

"Where's mother?" She rubbed her eyes and looked at me with her sad eyes.

"She went out. Don't worry , she will be back soon." I gently pinched her cheeks. She  bit her lips before she spoke up again.

"Where's Jaemin? I miss him..." She looked down on her lap, too scared to even ask about him. She heard about the arguments. She  was scared because she saw everyone was quarelling. She hated that. 

"I know Chaeyeon. I miss him too." I carresed her cheeks  before i lifted her up.

"Are you hungry?" I asked and i smiled when i heard her stomach growled. She looked down shyly.

"Let's make some okay while we wait mother." She nodded her head furiously and i chuckled to see her like this.

Everyone miss him. I understand if i ever call her again, it'll probably bother them. I wondered how's everything in there. Was there any good or bad news?  

As i was busy taking out the ingredients, Chaeyeon pulled the edge of my shirt.

"Hyejin, do you think we will be together again? Like mother here, father and Jaemin too. Because i don't want us to seperate. They are nice to me." Her face saddened again. I understood that she didn't want to be like the old days where there's only three of us. 

I put the ingredients on the counter and smiled at her. I couldn't say anything about it. She's fond to them. 

"Well let's just hoping for the best okay? Don't ever think about sad thing. I don't want to see this lil cutie being all sad. So, now tell me what do you want to eat?" 

"Umm.. i want to eat ommelete rice!" 

"Okay miss!" I smiled and she was giggling. 

My sister was too young to even know about this matter. For her to even think about it, i know she expected anything bad might happen. I felt like Chaeyeon really grew up mature one day.

4 hours had passed and she's still not coming home. Were they going to stay up in the hospital? I wanted to know what happen to Jaemin so bad.

"We're back!" 

"Mother!" I ran to the living room only to see them looking exhausted. My mother was leaning against the couch as she was pinching his forehead. While Jaemin's father looked very pale.

"What happen?" I asked since the both of them looked down the floor and didn't even said an utter of word.

"Mother, how's Jaemin?" I asked her again and she was too tired to even answered it. 

"Jaemin diagnosed having a disease. Thrombocytopenia" His father said lowly.

"What?" I looked at them in disbelief. So all along he had a disease.

"He's been losing a lot of blood and that's why he collapsed." My mother said.

"I knew it all along. And I didn't tell anything to both of you. It's for the best of him. And that's why I don't like the way you stop him for going oversea. What's the benefit? You only make my son's condition become more worse!" He looked at me his stern look and i could felt the disappointed eyes in him.

I startled to hear him raised his voice. 

"Can you stop blaming my daughter for all this? This is all our fault for not taking care of him goodly. Don't you think you should tell us about Jaemin? Aren't we family to you?" My mother's voice cracked and broke into tears suddenly. She cared about Jaemin. She always wanted a son and she treated him as a son to her.

But when her husband didn't tell her, hurt her a lot. 

"Can i see him tomorrow?" I pleaded. Jaemin's father was about to raise his voice when my mother said it was okay for me to visit him.

And that night we all went silent and no one bother to talk. We acted as if we were never talk about that topic again.

If any of you wondering what is thrombocytopenia, it is a disease which you have a very low blood platelet count. Well obviously it's not really a severe disease but it could be severe in a different condition. 

And stay safe guys! I've been staying at home for 1 month and of course it was not really easy for all of us here. Take care of your health. We can do this to stop Covid-19 from spreading to the other people. Don't forget to wash your hands frequently ❤❤!!
