After Areum left, the empty building was quiet once again. You suddenly felt cold as you held your hands which were shaking. You could not believe you actually slapped Areum.
You were now alone with Taehyung , and it has been awhile it was rather awkward. Nobody wanted to be the first one to talk. You took a deep breath.
"I'm.. sorry." You finally spoke up, pushing your ego aside.
"It's okay.. You didn't know." He answered briefly.
..... ..... Awkward ..... .....
"How did you know we'll be here?" This time, he broke the silence.
"I... I... I kinda heard you when you were on the phone. And then I followed you." You explained. It was an embarrassing explaination, but you were glad that you overheard his conversation. Otherwise you would never know the truth.
"Ah, I see." He nodded.
"I'm glad you did.."
"Me too. I'm sorry I blindly believed what I saw."
"It's alright, I guess Areum is really good in making it looked real. Even back then, she made me think you were the bad guy."
"Yea.."
.... Awkward yet again ....
He cleared his throat.
"So... lets go?" He asked, ready to leave as he put up his hoodie and put on his mask.
"Lets go? Already?" Your eyebrows furrowed, confused.
"Yea?.. You have anything else to say?"
You were speechless. Even after clearing the misunderstanding, he still wanted to avoid you. Even after clearing the misunderstanding, you still did not get the old Taehyung that you loved. And you still are clueless about the current status of the relationship.
"You don't want to talk about us?" You asked out of frustration.
"What about us?" He asked, which broke your heart yet again.
You had enough.
"Gosh, Taehyung. You're really hurting me.. " Your voice Trembled.
"You seemed like you don't care about us anymore... Do you."
He did not respond.
"Then why did you tell Areum that you still love me, hm? Just for you to escape her?"
He kept quiet.
"Then what about this?" You grabbed his wrist and showed him the couple bracelets he was wearing. "Why still wear this? For fashion?"
Still nothing from him.
"Fine.. Once we leave this building, I'll take it that you want nothing to do with me anymore." You stated out of anger. Deep down, you hoped he would say something.
You looked at him, still holding on to his wrist. You waited for awhile but he was completely still, looking down to the floor. Not once did he look at you.
"Fine then.. You controlled your tears as you let go off his wrist, hesitantly walking away.
This is it. This is the end. It's time to move on. It's over, for real.
Just when you thought you would spend the rest the night bawling your eyes out, you felt yourself being pulled back. You lost your balance as the pull was strong, but you landed perfectly into Taehyung's arm. And there he was, hugging you tight. You looked up, all confused but noticed he had tears in his eyes, just like you.
"Of course I still love you, silly..." He finally spoke as he tightened the hug.
You sighed as you returned the hug, thanking God that Taehyung has finally opened up and returned to his old self.
"But, I don't think we should be together.." He continued.
The smile you had for less than 5 seconds was gone. You gasped as you let go of the hug.
"WHA? What??" You asked in disbelief.
"For now.. I think we should not be together for now.."
Now it was your turn that was silent.
"Don't you think..." He licked his dried lips before continuing. "We got into a relationship too fast? On the first day we spent time together, we fell in love and we immediately started dating."
"Y/N, we didn't even get to know each other well. And what's worst we couldn 't build any trust. All we knew is that we loved each other."
"But, isn 't that enough?" You asked, still confused.
"But there's no foundation inour relationship Y/N.. We would only tumble, like how we have been eversince the start of our relationship." He smacked some sense into you. You could only look down.
"Don't get wrong, Y/N.." He pushed up your chin gently, to me make you look at him. "I still love you.. I really do. But all I'm saying is that we should take things slow. Take some time to get to know each other more. Don't you agree?"
You scanned Taehyung's face slowly. He had a point and maybe he was right. There was a reason why the relationship was shaky and why it was not working. "If it's meant to be, it will be. If you and I are destined to be together, we sure will fall back and return to each other. And I'm sure we will."
You nodded to what he said as you finally flashed a smile.
"Lets get to know each other better." With that, Taehyung flashed his wide box smile that you have not seen for so long. He pulled you into a hug and you hugged him back.
You knew this was a friendly hug, and nothing more than that.
But you felt happy.
Here's to a fresh start in getting to know Taehyung better.
